Family & Pet-Friendly Cottage Near Filey And Scarborough On The Yorkshire Coast

Privately owned and managed, Greenwich Cottage offers beautifully appointed accommodation on the stunning North Yorkshire coast and close to the extensive sands of Filey Bay beach. The property boasts 4 bedrooms (2 double, 2 twin - all with flat screen TV/DVDs), 2 bathrooms, downstairs cloakroom and a separate dining room. Wifi, 50 inch 4K Ultra HD Smart TV with Prime Video, Netflix and the usual IPlayer etc, in the sitting room are all included in the rental price. Greenwich Cottage is perfect for the larger family group or for two families holidaying together.

NB - We decided to name our property "Greenwich Cottage" - "Greenwich" is also the name of this style of cottage at The Bay.

The cottage is situated at the prestigious "The Bay" holiday village and guests have free use of the heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and other leisure facilities as well as the meadow parkland close to the property. Our guests can also follow the private road and footpath for the15-20 minute walk down to the 5 miles of sandy beach of Filey Bay. The Bay also has its own public house/restaurant serving good quality food and drink, a Pizzeria (closed in winter), a shop selling general goods and a pharmacy. To the rear Greenwich Cottage shares a large,open, grassed garden area with neighbouring properties and there is even a Boules court close by. Tennis courts, archery and other activities are also available within The Bay.
Please note that unfortunately it is not permitted to charge Electric Vehicles from the house as it cannot be done safely however there is a 22Kw EV charger in the car park 100m from the front door..
NB Please check the Rates section for minimum stay periods - usually either 3 or 7 nights depending on the season. In peak 7 night season stays should begin on a Friday or Saturday. Outside of peak season we can try to be flexible - if the system won't allow you to enter the arrival or departure date you are interested in, but they appear to be available, then please use the "Ask Owner A Question " button and I will check.. Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome, at no additional cost

Filey for a week

The property was exactly as advertised. The fact that it was on a site with its own dog friendly Pub, Gym with pool and convenience store made it all the more appealing. There were six of us plus a dog and we had plenty of room. We never had the opportunity to use the outside seating area and BBQ due to the weather but noticed that the space outside was clean and well maintained. The beach is a short walk from the cottage and we walked along it into Filey...our dog loved it. The BT TV box signal was a bit hit and miss but apart from that we had a very enjoyable time. We would definitely visit again.

Fantastic place to stay everything you need under one roof and more, very relaxing and would definitely recommend as a centre for touring the area. My only bit of extra advice is not to use the John Paul Jones on site pub to dine as it is overpriced and poor quality food.

Great stay in a really lovely cottage

Have just arrived back after a very relaxing short break in Greenwich Cottage. Communication with Nick was great, from the booking process through to our visit. The cottage was very well equipped and comfortable with plenty of room for us all. The cottage was ideally located to visit Filey, Scarborough and Whitby and it was a 15 minute walk to the beach. We ate at the onsite restaurant one night which was fine, if a little busy, but the rest of the evenings we cooked in the well equipped kitchen. This was followed by a few family games which were supplied, uno went down particularly well! All in all we had a great stay, and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Lovely house, child friendly location

Seven of us, four adults and three children, spent four lovely nights at Greenwich Cottage, 27 The Parade. The cottage is in a brilliant location - 5 minutes to the pub and swimming pool, 15 minutes to the beach. The weather was mixed, but didn't stop us walking to Filey along the beach, playing in the park and exploring the area. The cottage was perfect for us - clean, warm, well equipped, really good communal spaces and bedrooms. The back of the cottage overlooks a grassed area which looks perfect for summer barbecues. We all agreed that we would love to return for another visit - in fact we didn't want to come home!

Lovely house in perfect surroundings.

This is our second stay at this property. We love it! The beds are so comfortable and we have never seen any towels bigger or fluffier than those provided! This property caters for everything you need and is within a 10 minute walk of the beautiful beach. The on-site amenities are great but would recommend Hunmanby for pubs, butchers, deli etc. The Piebald Inn (Hunmanby) is a definite must if you stay here. Communication with the owners is fantastic. Can not recommend this place highly enough!

Lovely place

The house is a fantastic base to holiday from. Clean (ish) and very spacious. Shower heads were full of timescale, skirting boards had not been dusted in a while and j don't think anybody has considered cleaning under the sofa or down the side of the cushions. We had to hunt for one of the remotes for the tv and then found it down the side of one of the sofa cushions. There is everything you could want or need in the kitchen. And the bedrooms are spacious with comfy beds. The area is lovely for taking the dog for a walk, not so much for the fishing though. It's virtually non existent with the ponds not looked after properly. On-site security were fantastic when I had to get an ambulance to take my Uncle to hospital part way through the holiday. The John Paul Jones pub is not bad for a meal if you can't be bothered cooking. Limited menu, but nice food. Bayside kitchen is a bit pricey, but still nice. The walk to the beach is quite long and it'll take you 20 minutes to get there but 3 hours to get back because of the steepness of the incline, especially if pushing a buggy and carrying a 3 year old too!!! All in all, it was a really good holiday.

Perfect for large groups and families

Lovely property, with everything we needed and more! Approx 10-15 minute walk to a lovely quiet beach. Good amenities on site including a pool, arcade room, pub and Italian restaurant. The house was well kept, clean and tidy. Rooms were just the right size and beds were comfy. Well stocked with all we needed and a good base for visiting Filey, Scarborough, Bridlington and York. Already talking about visiting again next year.

Spacious and well equipped property on a great site

Really enjoyed our stay at this fabulous complex which is really well laid out with great facilities and in close proximity to the beach and within easy reach of other coastal towns and rural areas. Would highly recommend this complex to anyone considering staying there. The property we stayed in was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped, a real home from home. The site was very quiet and peaceful at night.
