Cottages in Excello

'This hotel should not be in business. The smell in the hallway is god awful. The carpet needs ripped out. I cannot even describe the smell it is so bad. Everything is just janky as all get out.'

'Why is this place so expensive? It is a very typical older hotel and should be $70-90 per night, not $170. I should have stopped in Columbia or continued on to Kirksville. It is clean, with friendly staff and the breakfast was fine but the price is more appropriate for a much more deluxe place.'

'We booked through Expedia and got a "deal" but the pictures were NOTHING like the property. There was no coffee pot. No one on site, had to call and wait for staff to show up. Staff was nice and gave info about the surrounding area. Bed was EXTREMELY uncomfortable. Nice history of the area but I do not recommend this particular "hotel" (motel).'

'Great spot to lay your head after a hot summer day. Sonja always has the air conditioning going and it's nice a cool when we arrive late after fireworks. Very clean with a lot of attention to the details that make your stay comfortable. We are never disappointed.'

'A really nice man, I believe the owner, checked me in. I didn’t see any staff after that. It was quiet and convenient for my stay on my Friends and Family Tour ‘26. I wasn’t expecting the Taj Mahal but I was pleasantly surprised at the comfortable bed and the clean room. A bonus, there’s a great coffee shop called Mia’s in Shelbina. It’s in the grocery store with a drive up.'

'The boys like that there was a convince store and two car washes in the same block. They went to the Higbee truck show so that was important! Nice clean house, and had everything they needed.'
