'Propery needs serious room upgrades. Furniture old, worn, couches stained and drooping. Pool out of service this stay and before on my stay here few months prior. Checkout staff curt and uninterested in my stay. Checkout at 12 but breakfast shuts down by 9:30. Barely a 2 star hotel. Needs some serious attention in a lot of areas. Price for stay is competitive, but much better hotels in the area for only a few more bucks. Go elsewhere........'

'We had a good stay at the HGI in Gastonia. Generally clean, with some signs of wear in the room, but otherwise fine. The staff was above and beyond nice and helpful at the front desk (Crystal was a standout- VERY nice!). The bartender was also nice and helpful when kids in our group wanted to order food. The lounge areas outside and in the lobby were good for adult hangouts. The ONLY things we didn't love were that the pool area was SO loud that we ended up leaving when a group of about 7...

I chose an airport hotel with airport shuttle service so that I could quickly get to the hotel (it was already pretty late at night) and then back to the airport first thing in the morning. I called for the shuttle when I arrived at the shuttle station and was told it would be 10-15 minutes. After 20 minutes I called and was told that they did not know where the driver was.
