We recently stayed at GR Solaris Cancun as a VIP Expedia traveler through the Expedia app, and unfortunately, the experience fell significantly short of expectations for an all-inclusive resort at this price point.
While the beach itself is beautiful and well-maintained, the overall resort did not live up to the descriptions provided. Beach service, such as drink or food delivery, was not available, which is a standard amenity at comparable properties.
The food quality was consistently disappointing—meals were often flavorless, poorly prepared, and lacked variety or appeal. As an all-inclusive experience, this was a major letdown.
Service from staff was inconsistent and, at times, unprofessional. The concierge was unresponsive despite multiple attempts to reach her over several days, including via the recommended app messaging. When contact was finally made, it was only for a checkout reminder call at 11:30 a.m. on departure day, threatening penalties for not vacating by noon. Promises made during the stay were not followed through, and information that should have been provided was omitted.
As a VIP Expedia member, I noticed that other guests appeared to receive more visible recognition (such as banners or attentive service), while our perks felt minimal—a small $3 bottle of champagne—and no meaningful enhancements.
The housekeeping staff were the highlight, consistently providing clean and well-maintained rooms.
Overall, this resort does not meet the standards!
