'De prijs/kwaliteit verhouding van dit hotel is uitstekend. Voor mij op een gunstige locatie in Shanghai gelegen. Vlakbij 2 grote metro stations op loopafstand. De buurt vind ik ook leuk. Deels het moderne China maar ook voldoende authentiek China met hier en daar wat rauwe randjes. Daar voel ik mij thuis.'

'what I like about the renaissance hotel is mainly the atmosphere in the hotel. A lot of chinese hotels are beautiful but overwhelming huge. Too high ceilings, too much marmor. The renaissance is more boutique like with good sound and atmosphere. Everything is there, very comfortable but not overdone'

'Nice looking hotel, but Airco was not working, first comment from staff was, that hotel had no individual airco, but hotel just had central air. This turned out not to be true, chamber became very warm. They tried to fix it, and told us it was fixed, which turned out not to be true. Also room had no view, but window against blind wall. also not possible to get fresh air in that way. Pool was empty, so no swimming. Breakfast was ok for the asian part, European style was not the best.'

'One of the best hotels in Shanghai, with a President's and Royal suite that has been used by the big and powerful people on Earth. A few years ago they were overbooked and I got the president's suit (in basic state, of course - if a real president would show up for sure all tapestry and so on would be changed). This time a normal suite. Hotel is somewhat ageing, but still top class - something you pay for, of course. All amenities and staff are flawless. Great garden. '

'Nogal smoezelige badkamers, geen wireless internet, geen tot slecht werkende airco. Het was buiten 10 graden en in mijn kamer 25 graden. Als je vraagt of ze de airco repareren kan het niet en geven ze je een andere kamer. Waar dan ook geen werkende airco is. Heb een dag buiten temperatuur van 28 graden gehad en dat was het dan ook in mijn hotelkamer. Ik heb nu 3 verschillende kamers gehad......Dus als je van warmte houd of veel verschillende kamers wilt zien is dit hotel echt een aanrader.'
