'I love the TRU by Hilton chain! The hotels are fresh and looking modern and young. They’re clean and are also focused on younger people who do remote working. I always book a hotel from that chain and the one in Ashland was no exception. Breakfast is typically US, so not the best but super bad either.'

'Stayed for 2 nights. Room was clean and comfortable. Was pleasantly surprised to see that our room had been serviced while out for a day at the theme park. Since covid this is rare. Breakfast was good. Would recommend this hotel.'

'Avoid at all costs. The photos of the room I have seen prior to booking were all a complete lie. The room was dirty, there were bugs popping up frequently, the floorboards were not fully leveled, and there were multiple holes and cracks in the walls. No appliances for food either and the wifi is terrible. There was also no smoke alarm which I believe is a serious violation. You're better off paying a few more bucks for somewhere else nearby, especially if you are there for Kings Dominion.'

'This property was very unique experience. They outrighttly said that they dont have my booking. After showing them the confirmation from expedia, they still refused and said how can they book the property. We dont have such rooms and we dont make money with them. After being told that I am traveling with 4 kids and need a night stay, they offered 2 beds and asked for $50 with no extra blankets. Horrible experience and I am going to spread this word across.'

'The hotel was very dirty and was not kept well on the outside. There was garbage everywhere. There was bugs. The bolt on the door didn’t work. The toilet ran very loud all night.'

'They are pretty much the only place in the area was an outdoor swimming pool for less than $100 a night. That being said, we overlooked the rude staff, and the fact that the rooms were only half-heartedly cleaned, and the criminal casing of rooms that the personnel were obviously a part of.... But a total infestation of cockroaches was the last straw. Pool or not, we will never stay there again!'

'We had a terrible night. First, the air conditioning didn't work. We asked for help, but the staff member told us that was just how it was and that there were no other rooms available. She then brought out two dirty fans that looked like they belonged in the Paleolithic era. We told her we wanted a refund, and—as if by magic—a room suddenly became available. We went in, and my son and I—exhausted—took showers. Just as we were settling down to rest, my son screamed; there was a protruding piece...

'Be sure to lower your standards. Room looked like a crime scene. I don't even want to know how many people overdosed in that bed. Dirty, in disrepair, COCKROACHES IN THE MICROWAVE! We didn't even stay. Checked out within 20 minutes and got another room elsewhere and immediately took a shower. Just skip this place'

'The room looked like it was recently refreshed with new paint, but the painting and drywall work was extremely poorly done, looked like a 10 year old child did the work. There was a coffee maker in the room, but no coffee cups. There were 2 towels in the bathroom, one regular sized one and one hand towel. Not sure how 2 grown adults are supposed to use these towels. I do not recommend using this hotel.'

'The room smelled like weed. The floors needed vacuuming, the shower had hair and grime. There was a bracket left in the room from a previous visitor. When I asked for air freshener the staff said they did not have any. Upon checkout I noticed Lysol room spray in a laundry basket in the hallway. Trash in hallways and the exterior of the property. The breakfast was sadly just as disappointing. The only redeemable quality: quiet on a Sunday night and the bed was clean/ comfortable. If visiting...
