'My partner and I stayed here for our 2 year wedding anniversary and the staff could not have been nicer!! They were so lovely from check in to check out making sure we had what we needed and providing that beautiful location for us to stay in. The decor in the house and our room in particular was stunning, rich and colourful. We would 100% recommend staying here as it’s only a 2 minute walk to the train station that takes you practically everywhere around Auckland!! Thank you Aachen House :))'

'Melissa obviously puts a lot of care into her hosting. She was even ready for us with a very last minute booking. We were a little surprised that the rooms were inside her house, but that’s just because we were in a rush to book and didn’t notice that ahead of time. But, it did not bother us and Melissa was extremely kind and accommodating. The room had so much space, was clean and comfortable; it was perfect for what we needed.'

'Housekeeping erratic. Floor never vacuumed, towels first changed after 1 week, then sometimes daily, sometimes after 3-4 days. Staff at reception helpful.'

'The property was very clean and had everything we needed. Hosts were approachable and supplied extra coffee. Wonderful place if your travelling with a dog. '

'Great place to stay in Mission Bay, close to the beach and cafes. Easy trip into Auckland CBD too. Great accommodation, unmanned but communication is good with emails to tell us how to get in etc Definitely would stay here again! '

'Black and White Retreat was just perfect for us with all amenities we needed. Clean, comfortable (great, comfy bed). Great location, quiet and only a short, flat walk to the beach and even quicker to the boat ramp. Great outdoor spaces which was wonderful for when the family arrived for a beach day and accommodated 11 of us for a pre dinner drink really easily. Playground just up the road for the grandchildren...perfect. Host Sue is lovely making us feel welcome and very comfortable. Will be...
