We pull in to valet, & the valet line is blocked by a car with no occupant and a large van. After waiting in the car for 10 minutes, I finally got out of my car to walk out and ask what was going on. After that, the line finally moves.
When I drive up to the area where the valet stand was, there are 3 guys standing behind the stand just staring at me.
I proceed to get out of my car and walk up to the stand to understand the process. After they looked confused, one valet attendant finally came up to me and explains the basic process. It was the strangest valet experience I've encountered.
No one helps us with our bags. As we're struggling to walk through the door with our bags, not one of the 3 people standing there opens the door. Finally, someone walks up and holds the door behind me as I struggle carry our luggage through the two double doors.
As we get to the lobby to check in, the desk agent asks how they can help. I tell them I would like to check in and he has a bewildered look on his face as if I said something confusing. I ask is ok that I check in and he says yeah..sure... we're just really busy. I reply "well having a fully occupied hotel is a good thing, right?"
He then tells me that as a Bonvoy member I have credits for room service, in-room snacks, and in-room bar. We get to our room and there are no snacks, one bottle of water, andnothing in the fridge. The automated concierge was worthless & frustrating. The good things were the beautiful property & room.
