The Space:

At Pause House AM, simplicity is intentional. Pale wood walls, polished concrete floors, natural textures, and soft neutral furnishings create a calm, inviting interior where nothing competes with the landscape outside. Generous windows bring the desert into view, while the open studio layout makes the most of its intimate footprint. Everything feels considered, from the comfortable seating to the beautifully dressed bed, but the real invitation is to move freely between the house and the outdoors.



This is a home for couples who appreciate good design, quiet surroundings, and the freedom to spend a day doing very little. Read with the windows open to the mountains, prepare a leisurely lunch, or head outside to enjoy the changing light. With a hot tub, seasonal cowboy tub, outdoor rain shower, and several places to sit and take in the scenery, even a day spent entirely at home feels well spent.

The outdoor spaces are where Pause House AM truly comes into its own. Positioned above the surrounding desert, the property opens toward a broad panorama of Joshua trees, rolling hills, and distant mountains. The landscape feels wonderfully expansive, with the simple architecture allowing the natural surroundings to take center stage.



A shaded patio extends the living space outdoors, with a dining table for meals in the fresh air and a propane BBQ for relaxed evenings at home. Nearby, the propane fire pit and outdoor chairs offer a comfortable place to watch the last light settle over the valley.



For a refreshing dip during warmer months, the cowboy tub provides a simple way to cool off while enjoying the scenery. Please note that this is a cowboy tub, not an in-ground swimming pool, and it is drained and unavailable from November through March.



The private hot tub offers a different experience, particularly after dark when the surrounding hills fade into silhouette. An outdoor rain shower with desert views adds another thoughtful touch, making even the simplest daily rituals feel connected to the landscape.



-Living Area-

Inside, the living space is understated and comfortable, with a generous sectional sofa, an inviting armchair, and natural materials that soften the home's clean architectural lines. Large windows frame the desert beyond, making this an especially appealing spot to settle in with a book or enjoy a quiet afternoon.



The open studio is designed around an easy connection between lounging, sleeping, and cooking, creating a cozy environment without sacrificing its airy character. A smart TV with integrated sound provides entertainment when you feel like staying in, while heating, air conditioning, and Starlink Wi-Fi keep the home comfortable and connected throughout your visit.



-Kitchen and Dining-

The kitchen carries the home's restrained design through pale wood cabinetry, open shelving, and stainless steel appliances. Despite its compact size, it is equipped for everyday cooking, with a gas range, oven, refrigerator, microwave, cookware, and essential kitchen tools.



Morning coffee is particularly well suited to this setting. Brew locally roasted Joshua Tree Coffee Co. coffee using the drip coffee maker or French press, then find a sunny seat indoors or take your cup out to the shaded patio.



For meals, you can dine inside or make use of the outdoor dining table and propane BBQ. The arrangement makes it easy to keep cooking simple and spend more of your time enjoying the scenery together.



-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

Pause House AM accommodates two guests in a beautifully composed open studio. The sleeping area is integrated into the main living space rather than enclosed in a separate bedroom, creating an intimate, cohesive layout.



A queen Casper mattress dressed in premium Parachute linens offers a comfortable place to rest, with soft natural finishes and generous windows contributing to the room's peaceful atmosphere. Wake to daylight filtering across the walls and glimpses of the desert landscape just beyond the glass.



The home has one ensuite bathroom with contemporary finishes and a rain shower. For guests who prefer a little fresh air, the additional outdoor rain shower offers a memorable alternative, accompanied by the wide-open views that define this desert retreat.

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.



The final stretch to the home is on maintained dirt roads. Four-wheel drive is not required, but road conditions can vary and may have bumps or ruts, particularly after rainstorms. Please take it slow.
