Lovely place for 2 couples, really near the city centre

Hidden away, but right next to the city walls, it was a warm, comfortable and cosy base for exploring York, with the Minster just a few minutes away. It was very clean and welcoming and great to be able to park up in our reserved space. Could do with a few more plates and a couple of medium size saucepans though! We struggled with cooking and serving up for four people.

Lovely York City Cottage

A lovely cottage, well provisioned to a high standard, great position on the edge of the city, a few minutes walk from the heart of everything beautiful York had to offer. Highly recommend.

Lovely and cosy with good furnishings and equipment. 2 items that would further enhance are - (a) better blinds, especially in the outer bedroom where outside lights are not shut out and (b) unable to find any instructions for the kitchen - oven, microwave or Nespresso machine? or log fire

Great location but some maintenance required

The property is within 10 minutes easy walk of the centre of York and the Minster. Very well equipped although some maintenance required as the hot water was intermittent, some broken fittings in one bathroom, and the parking space for the car is hugely overgrown which makes it very difficult to reverse into. That said, it’sa lovely property and we’d stay there again.

Excellent choice

The roomy cottage is comfortable and well equipped. Traffic in York is extremely busy so having a parking space and being able to walk to shops, theatres, restaurants and museum is a huge bonus. I would highly recommend a stay in this cottage.

Fabulous York Stay

Moatside Gate is so close to the centre of York but nestled amongst local residents so you get to meet people who know the city....info on tap! The acommadation is home from home, everything you would need & more; very comfortable. Stays York office around the corner, 5 minute walk to some lovely ladies who are more than happy to help with any queries. Thank you for an absolutely fantastic stay.

Cosy, compact and very convenient for all York attrctions and eateries.

Good to be able to park the car securely for our holiday and walk everywhere to visitor attractions, Christmas market, shops and various restaurants. The holiday home is clean, comfortable and very well equipped.

This is a clean, bright, charming cottage walkable to any location in historic York. The kitchen was remarkably well-equipped, and the furniture and beds very comfortable. The owner responded promptly to any questions we had. We would love to stay here again.

What a gem of a find in York!

This was an excellent find for those wanting to easily explore York. Conveniently located 10 - 15 minutes to the centre. Dedicated parking either outside the electric gate or inside if your car is a smaller family size. There isn't a garden but there is a secure shingled patio around the property. We had a dog so it was convenient to let her out safely in this patio area. The inside was spacious, clean and well stocked with kitchen utensils if required. Great large TV screen with plenty of channels including Netflix and other on demand channels. 2 beds and 2 bathrooms - just one bath though to clarify. A lovely stay with restaurants and pubs within 10 minutes walk. Highly recommended.

GREAT LOCATION Was very high spec very clean They was parking for one car with automatic gates which was great... just a short walk to town The only problem we had was in one of the beds the radiator wasn’t working .. Apart from that great Very nice I would stay there again Thanks
