'The room was lovely and cozy, at the top of the building with nice views of the rooftops and sunsets. The bath was across the hall, but it was ours alone. The stairs were a small challenge. Street parking was not a problem. There certainly couldn't be a better location!'

'When I arrived at the property, it was unstaffed. There was a list of eight telephone numbers to call. I called one and was directed to open several key safes before the right key was found. When I reached my room, I found that instead of being the “standard” room I’d booked, it was a cheaper “compact room” - much more cramped and much less pleasant. I felt that cleanliness and maintenance left something to be desired - there was cracked and flaking paint, the electrics felt to me pretty amateur...

'The purpose of this review is not to simply disparage the property, but to help improve it in the future. The cleanliness left much to be desired. The kettle in my room was used and full of water, and the shower curtain was filthy at the bottom. The only positive was that the sheets were clean. In addition, the parking issue was a nightmare; the staff gave no instructions on parking until I asked them about it, and they told me that I have to pay and reserve for a parking space. 'Would definitely not recommend. Very rude receptionist/owner, arrived at 22:00 and made a big fuss about giving the combination of the key box. We booked because of free parking but there was no space available anymore into which our medium sized car would fit.'

'Celine was amazing. She gave us access after hours, checked on us in the morning and gave us tea and toast after breakfast hours, checked on our welfare, held our bags for us when we went into Oxford, and gave us waters in the heat wave. The sheets were not very clean and the bathroom garage was not emptied when we checked in, but the shower was good and there was a fan and tea provided in the room with decently comfortable beds. A great place!'
