'We were so happy with our recent stay at the Stonecliffe. The property is gorgeous and the room was excellent. We enjoyed the pool and all the fun lawn games. Our kids especially enjoyed the nightly candy cart and smores! Having those activities for the kids made our trip that much better. We hope to come back soon!'

'Nothing can be blamed on front line staff when it comes to this disgrace of a hotel. This is a matter attributed to owner/management. The rooms were in a horrible state with stains on the floors, carpets, etc. The bathrooms, plaster, and fixtures were rusted and falling apart. Breakfast was disgusting and consisted of a picture of Fruit Loops taped to a plastic dispenser, an unplugged waffle maker, along with a coffee and juice dispenser, both of which weren’t functioning. 'Room smelled HORRIBLE. Water stains/roof leaks down the walls, and hasn’t been updated since the 50s including the furniture. Extremely disappointing to spend the weekend with my family. I wouldn’t stay if I were snowmobiling with buddies either.'

'The room was spacious and had a nice view of the lake. I couldn't get a good night's sleep because it was so loud. Not that there were loud people, but because the building is so old and poorly insulated that you can hear everything happening in other rooms like it's in your room.'

'The clarion hotel is absolutely the best hotel to be out of mackinaw. It's very close walking or drive. Rooms was cleaned, property cleaned, staff was very nice an informative. Definitely be going back when we go up that way'

'Not what pictures portray. Living in Michigan my entire life I think all of mackinaw city has depleted in cleanliness and price gauging. We booked a “superior room” which means nothing like the photos. We were told it’s just a standard queen with a water view balcony. 'Stayed two nights there. The room was clean, well maintained. Hotel was quiet, friendly helpful staff. 'The room we stayed in was clean, just basic. We stayed at the budget inn and they make it very clear through the booking and on the lobby door of the budget inn that you checkin/out at the Thunderbird Inn next door.
