'This was the perfect place to stay for a first time visit to a Japanese Onsen town. Excellent location on the river within walking distance of all the included spas, many shops and places to eat. Recommendation from a staff member for great food/good value in 2 blocks. We definitely had our favorites eateries and Onsen, but the whole experience was just lovely and Ichidaya made it so. 'An excellent, "easy" introduction to a traditional ryokan, with many accomodations for first timers like us. Family made a side trip from Kyoto for something different than the 3 big cities and this inn gave us a wonderful, different experience with excellent service and great food.
