The bad - the Fire alarm went off at 1am. I thought it was the alarm clock beeping as it did not sound like a fire alarm. There were no visual lights, and no instructions over the intercom. Called the lobby and concierge and there was no answer. Looked out my balcony and maybe 20 percent of the occupants evacuated. A half hour later there were instructions that the fire department attended and we can return to our rooms, the elevators will be functional “in 5 minutes”. This message repeated itself for a half hour (I guess they don’t know what 5 minutes is). Needless to say, no one slept and I still don’t know if there was a fire or if someone just burned their toast. Seems ridiculous to evacuate a complex of this size for an incipient fire or no fire at all. And worst of all, there were no instructions and no one to answer a phone. I can hear the naysayers saying that they can’t answer the phone if they evacuate a building, but get with modern times and forward your phones to a mobile unit if that’s the case. Also, staff should be present to help evacuate the building. I saw no one on my floor and no one outside.
Also, the place is getting run down and is way over priced for what it is offering.
The good - it’s downtown.
