'Potts Point is a great area to base yourselves in in Sydney and Spicers is a great "hotel" - actually, that's too impersonal, it feels more like a home away from home. The reception staff are interested and attentive, our room (No.8) was well provisioned and superclean, we were in walking distance of interesting local shops and restaurants, and a short Uber to the CBD. Thoroughly recommend.'

'Fijn hotel in Woolloomoloo. Was hier in 2018 voor het eerst en had toen een hele mooie ervaring. Dat was het nu ook. Echter de tijden zijn veranderd. Nog steeds een zeer aan te bevelen hotel. Ietwat aan de prijzige kant, maar daar krijg je ook een mooie ervaring voor terug. Gelegen vlakbij de Botanische tuin, Potts Point en National Art Gallery in een rustige buurt van Sydney.'

'I loved this hotel, it was in a very convenient location with train and buses close to the door and nice restaurants nearby. I enjoyed the 5k run from the hotel to the harbour as suggested on the wellness page of the hotels website. Only downside was being woken by a fire alarm which was a human announcement in my room - for a brief moment in my half asleep state I thought the person was in the room with me but it was just a tannoy announcement!'

'Nice Hotel close to the Theatre Royal. Appreciated the upgrade to a King room. Shower was good and the bed was comfortable. The Metro and the Light Rail were both out of service. Walking distance from St James Station. Not much open around the area on a Sunday morning. Breakfast was in a little Cafe near the back entrance to the Hotel. The Verandah Bar is nearby for Lunch or Dinner.'

'Things got stolen on two occasions. I asked the staff to check the cctv and they seemed very reluctant and then agreed to. They said where I was located was the one area they don’t have cctv. Overall I felt quite unsafe when staying there and the staff didn’t take my concerns very seriously at all, I think because they’re all travelling themselves and staying at the hostel. It doesn’t seem like there is any authority or professionalism. Other things. No towels to rent, but then saw others...

'It was my first visit to The Porter House and I was generally happy with my stay. I had asked for a room on a higher floor and away from the elevator, which they were able to accommodate. It was a lovely touch to see my name displayed on the TV when we entered the room, and a bottle of wine and a hand-written card. It's the little things that made the stay enjoyable.
