'We had a wonderful time at this ryokan. We chose this inn specifically for its remote location and traditional atmosphere and were not disappointed. The hotel, outdoor onsen, and woodsy surroundings were all excellent. The building is old and reminded me of the railroad lodges of the western United States: creaky old doors and floors, metal keys, and rotary dial phones. Other than the hotel, there are no restaurants nearby (that I know of) and dinner is an elaborate kaiseki ryori that requires...

'Cozy beautiful traditional Japanese building. Amazing service by the lady who received us, she was so generous with us. The rooms and mattresses were super comfortable as well.'

'We had a really great experience staying at this traditional Japanese hotel, really friendly and helpful staff made our stay very enjoyable. We had plenty of help with finding local attractions and restaurants and even booking taxis and making reservations for restaurants. The common areas were really clean and cosy. We requested to change our room free of extra charge, which was really great as not all rooms have showers inside bathrooms. '

'Great location for the hotel to see both the Shinhotaka ropeway and the Kamikochi park. Inside it was clean, quiet and, of course, great private onsens. 2 indoor and 1 outdoor. Water was very hot, but relaxing. Will definitely book again if we're back here'
