Blokhutten in Southern Illinois

'We actually booked this property for our DJ for our son’s wedding. He and his wife said it was the best nights sleep they had in a while. They felt safe and safe leaving their equipment outside.'

'A small converted barn that feels like what it says on the tin. A cozy cabin surrounded by trees. There was a lovely pond on the property and a loft above the kitchen. I loved the trees surrounding the property it offered a lot of privacy. Communication with the owner was fast and effective. The instant check in was great. The only problem was that I wasn't provided with the door code by Expedia, so I had to ask the owner before I could get in. He responded quickly and we had a wonderful time....

'Quaint little place out in the woods. It feels very removed and unplugged.'

'We loved this cabin!! Brand new and very nicely decorated! Communication was excellent! Very nice touches inside the cabin. Nice walking around the lake area!! Thank you for everything!'

'Beautiful all the way around!'

'Went to visit kids who live in the area. Normally we get a hotel but decided to try doing something different. This was so much better than hotels and plan to go back next time we are down.'

'Is was so peaceful and nice to be in the country and see stars in the sky. The cabin was so cute and homey. Got to visit family by the fire pit and have hotdogs and smores!! My daughter and granddaughter had a wonderful time. An amazing few days away'

'We had such an awesome stay at the Shawnee Apple Shack. It was so cute, clean, and had everything that we needed! There was plenty to do in the Southern Illinois area for the weekend. We definitely recommend staying there and would love to come back sometime!'

'It was a very clean and a wonderful place to stay! We didn't have any pets although it was pet friendly you never would have known any pets had ever been there. Wish we could have stayed longer!! The host was wonderful to work with!'

'My dog and I stayed 2 nights for a visit with family in the area. The yard is nice for pets, the deck has gates to keep pets or children in part of it, there's plenty of seating outside to sit for morning coffee or in the evening plus a small firepit with a couple of seats. My dog was not crazy about the spiral staircase but he is a little anxious at times so I carried him up for bed then we were able to go out on the patio and down the wooden staircase in the morning. Location is nice and...

'Beautiful quaint cabin! Had everything you could need. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice place to stay.'

'Allison was very quick at responding if anything popped up during our stay. She was efficient and effective with her communication. The pond was AMAZING and our dog Raven had an absolute blast! Thank you for allowing your space to host dogs as well so we could have this great weekend with our family!'

'The Blonde is very well kept, the host is very communacative, friendly, and helpful. We enjoyed our stay!'

'High quality room, with farm privacy and atmosphere. We would recommend it and stay there again. Only one thing: The ladder to the loft bedroom is quite steep. My wife struggled a bit with it. But then, she is in her late 60's. Nevertheless, a good place that we will recommend. A/C worked well, and was needed. Room very clean. We hardly saw staff, which was fine, as we enjoyed our privacy.'

'Another wonderful stay at this cabin. Quick responses from host, clean place with all the amenities you’d need. Air conditioning worked great. Great location for hiking or exploring the wine trail. Hidden, yet super easy access to highway.'

'Our stay was perfect! The house was clean and exactly as described. It was very close to the lake. We did not rent kayaks this time, but would in the future. Thank you, Ginger!'

'Very nice place! The towels smelled amazing! Cute decor!'
