'Was voor ons de eerste keer in een resort en dat was wel even wennen. De start was niet gelukkig omdat we eerst lekker werden gemaakt met een upgrade en dus een zouden we een kamer krijgen met uitzicht op de zee. Was inderdaad mooie locatie maar helaas was er die dag of kort ervoor iets gerenoveerd/geverfd in de kamer en er hing een heel sterke aceton lucht die helaas niet weg ging. We kregen uiteindelijk een andere kamer zonder uitzicht en dat was een beetje onbevredigend. Dag later hebben...

'The first room we checked into was dirty and we had to change rooms. The second room was ok but we found that the heater didn’t work. We reported it, a maintenance man came up but it was never fixed. The property is nice once you get beyond the gates (that looked like you were entering a war zone). The staff was friendly but our experience was just ok.'

'Food was good with a wide variety , the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful always , room and house keeping was always on time and my sincere greetings to reception man Mohamed Radi who welcomingly hosted us during our stay. My only negative point that the AC was working only on fan mode in winter although it was so hot for us inside the room'

'Title: Appalling Experience – Unsafe, Unhygienic & Completely Misleading My stay at Kaktus Somabay was a disaster from the moment I checked in on November 27, 2025. The first room was covered in thick dust, to the extent that my new iPad cover became damaged within minutes. When I reported it, management responded with denial and disrespect, insisting it “did not happen here.” Their attitude alone was unacceptable. 'Shockingly poor resort for a global brand like Movenpick. Customer service is generally appalling (few exceptions), very few staff speak even a basic level of English, quality of food is average at best, rooms are incredibly dated, all inclusive drinks are of very low quality'
