Bay View Cottage is located in the quiet little bayside village of Smith Beach, Virginia. It is situated on a beautiful lot with 160 feet of beach frontage on the Chesapeake Bay. You'll see natural unspoiled beauty and breathtaking sunsets from your own back yard.

At Bay View Cottage you can just sit back, relax, and enjoy the view; or take advantage of the crabbing, clamming, swimming, boating, and fishing that are right at your back door.

If you plan to bring your boat, you'll find a boat ramp within 1/4 of a mile of the cottage.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Maximum of 8. Three bedrooms: two twins and a double in master bedroom; queens in each of the other two bedrooms. Two full baths. Kitchen is fully equipped. Large knotty pine paneled living area. Large screened-in porch facing the bay. Outside deck overlooking the bay with stairs leading down to your own private beach. New updates include a big screen TV, WI-FI, free long distance phone calls, both bathrooms have been remodeled, and new upgrades throughout the beach house including a new sunroom and an outdoor shower. The newest upgrade, as of May 2024, is a water softener system. Please be aware that the water softener often goes through a process from 2:00AM - 3:30AM. Please don't use water or flush the toilet during this time. Thanks.

RATES:
May-August: $275.00 per night or $1,925 per week.
Sept.-October: $245.00 per night or $1,715 per week.

SECURITY DEPOSIT:
A $300 deposit is required on all rentals. Money will not be deducted from your account unless there is damage. You will not be charged if everything is left as you found it.

RESERVATION:
You may reserve the cottage through Vrbo.com (only after approval of landlord) Vrbo.com/4303415ha.
Please consider the months of September and October. Most people from the Eastern Shore like to book these two months.

HOW EQUIPPED:
The cottage is completely furnished including pillows, pots, pans, dishes, tableware, kitchen appliances, washer & dryer, big flat screen TV, WIFI, telephone with free long-distance calling, air conditioning, microwave, etc. NOT FURNISHED ARE: BED LINENS, WASHCLOTHS, SOAP, TOWELS, DISH CLOTHS, and DISH TOWELS.
If any appliance or equipment malfunctions, every effort will be made to correct the problem; however, there will be no refunds for appliance or air conditioner failure or breakdown.

PETS:
Absolutely No Pets will be allowed in the cottage.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE:
Weekly rentals run Saturday to Saturday. Check-in begins no earlier than 3:00 PM. Check-out is no later than 11:00 AM.

FAMILY GROUPS ONLY:
We rent to families and professional groups only. Fraternities, sororities, etc. are not allowed. Violation will result in eviction with no refund.

LOCATION:
From Rt. 13 take Eastville exit to Rt. 13 business. Take Rt. 634 in a westerly direction; go slightly more than 2 miles, veer right onto Rt. 666 (Smith Beach Road); go 1.3 miles; see Bay View Cottage on the left. The cottage is green with a detached garage and a fenced-in front yard. See 911 number 15712 affixed to the fence.

KEYS:
Your keys (2) are located in a combination security lock box found on the left front corner of the garage. You will be notified of your combination code after we receive full payment plus the security deposit. When leaving PLEASE PLACE THE KEYS BACK IN THE SECURITY BOX.

CANCELLATION:
When booking through VRBO/HomeAway: if cancellation is made 30 days prior to rental date a 100% refund will be made. If the cancellation is made 14-30 days prior to rental a 50% refund will be made. Otherwise, no refund.

CLEAN UP:
So that we may continue to offer reasonable rates, we require each renter to clean the cottage before departure. Please vacuum, clean the bathrooms, and wash all dishes, pots, and pans. Please remove all perishable food from the refrigerator. Please take all trash and garbage with you as you go. The trash can be taken to the Northampton County trash center. Go south on Smith Beach Road, Rt. 666. At the end of Rt. 666 take Rt. 634, like you came in. At the end of Rt. 634 turn left onto Courthouse Road. Go 1 1/2 miles, passing Northampton High School on your right. See the gated trash center on the left. The trash center is open Mon.-Sat. 7:30AM to 6:00PM and Sunday 1:00PM to 6:00PM. THANK YOU!

THINGS TO KNOW:
The hot water heater is located in the garage. When turning on the hot water, be patient, it takes a little while to arrive.
The Wi-Fi password is the same as the local assistance phone number for Keith Bull. You will find important phone numbers on the top of the TV table.
When using the TV please use the DIRECT remote only.

TAKE A BOOK LEAVE A BOOK:
We have many books on the bookshelves in the living room. A great many vacationers enjoy reading books while relaxing. Please feel free to take a book and leave the book you have just finished reading.
