The next time they said it we wanted to shower we had to do it in another room, however they asked us to share this room key with other people which wasn’t what we thought when booking. 'Location was excellent for walks, Castleton centre, pubs & restaurants. The cottage is very small but fine for two people & a dog. The log burner is great but no wood or matches are provided. The little kitchen area has everything you need although there isn’t any space for prepping food. The stairs are very steep. The bed is extremely comfortable & we slept really well. 'Bathroom was clean, though pillows had make-up stains on and the heating was only turned on when we arrive so took a while to warm up. Staff friendly when we arrived. it is above a pretty noisy pub with inside steps from the pub or a fire escape style staircase from outside. Could hear a couple having an arguemnt on the street below as well. All in all, convenient if needing to be in area but not one if you need somewhere a bit more accessible or quiet.'

'We have no complaints on our stay, we only wished that it would’ve been for longer. Our room was extremely comfortable, breakfast was the best! We will be back to explore the area and will definitely try and stay here again'

'The property has an imposing stance and even before entering, suggests a degree of elegance and style. The start was not good, however, as upon entering the room, I found that it had not been serviced. I cannot remember if I received an apology - suggesting that maybe I didn't - but the hotel deducted the price of two bottles of wine from a dinner for 8 as a paliative. 'Great communication from owners. Warm and friendly welcome upon arrival. Room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, bathroom spacious, fantastic shower.
