« A lovely stay in a cute old stable. Lovely provision of cereal, bread, butter, milk and coffee (including some for the cafetière for those like me who don’t drink instant). The fridge has a small freezer at the top which is great. The living room is double height and very comfy with underfloor heating, the bedroom is upstairs on the mezzanine. The owners have really thought about the things you need when staying away in self-catered accommodation and it shows! 10/10 »

« Great location for travel into York, Knaresborough and Harrogate, the cottage had a proper rustic feel to it and was very cosy whilst remaining practical. The owners were friendly and didn’t mind us going to visit their farm animals each morning, llamas, goats, ponies etc, which was a lovely touch. »

« This is a fantastic property in a quiet cul-de-sac 10 minutes drive from Wakefield and about 30 minutes from York or Harrogate. The cottage is very well equipped and has everything you need for a great stay. Clean and modern inside ample parking and great views. »

« We had a fantastic stay in Louise's gorgeous cottage. Beautifully decorated, luxury bedding, comfy beds and just 5 mins from centre of York. Check in was easy and Louise allowed us a later checkout which tied in nicely with our train home. We have all agreed that we would love to come back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the cottage to others coming to York. »

« Really lovely property and enough space for 5 of us. Everything was as described and clean. We had a fabulous 4 night stay and a great location. It was easy to get to York, McArthur Glen and Scarborough. We would definitely return, the owners are lovely and the bonus, a little farm shop. »

« We stayed now on two occasions on our journeys north & south to Scotland. The bungalow is easily accessible not too far from the A1 & there are good convenience facilities just off the A1 roundabout less than 4 miles from Austerfield. The bungalow is furnished to a high standard with comfortable sofas & excellent beds & bedding. The location is in a secure park with intriguing deer statues in several places. Well recommended for short or long stays. »

« My partner and I (and our dog) stayed at Gemma’s lovely cottage and we couldn’t be happier! Communication was prompt, the cottage was immaculate when we arrived and fully equipped, and the village of Burythorpe was beautiful! Highly recommend popping into the pub across the street as it was lovely. Gemma also provided several great recommendations in the guest book and we are sad that we couldn’t get to everything in our weekend stay! Would definitely come back, thanks Gemma! »

I do think the property does need updating a little and it would have been nice if the hot tub had been filled on arrival, the hot tub also needs a cover as unless you like cold feb rain wouldn’t have been enjoyable. »
