  • L'Anavo Farm Retreat est situé au cœur de la région viticole de Santa Ynez, dans le paisible village de Ballard. C'est juste une balade à vélo à Los Olivos et au centre de tout ce que la vallée a à offrir, mais on se sent hors des sentiers battus. C’est une occasion unique de séjourner dans une maison d’hôtes rénovée «digne de l’intérêt», qui ne sonne que le son des moutons, des chevaux et des coqs voisins. Nous savons qu’il est difficile de s’échapper, et votre expérience doit donc être spectaculaire… et ce le sera!

This adorable, quiet retreat was just as described in the listing. Loved this place,especially the views from the upstairs & deck! Jen was very easy to communicate with & super simple check in. Lovely that we were given a bottle of wine, cheese, snacks & fresh eggs! So nice to hear running water from the fountains while you relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. You can even feed the animals and pick your own lavender ;-) Close to all surrounding towns and winery's, couldn't be better. Thank You Jen!

Perfect place

We had the most fantastic stay at Jen’s guesthouse. It is even more beautiful than the images in the listing. We stayed here over the weekend when we got married in the area and the location, surroundings, the amenities Jen offers are truly unbeatable. We are already planning our next stay here. Great farmhouse stay

Really loved this converted three-car garage into a two-story apartment - the decor and farmhouse appointments were really nice and we loved the natural light and brightness on the upper level especially. Also liked the outdoor spaces and all the views were spectacular. Great location for wine tasting and close to Solvang and Los Olivos restaurants.

Perfect location! The most charming, delightful space imaginable! So many complimentary items—wine in fridge available for purchase! Goats and sheep on site—beyond wonderful! I can’t say enough great things about this property. Our host, Jen was terrific. This is a wonderful place for a getaway.

Beautiful and Relaxing

This was probably one of the best places I have stayed in over the years. The cottage is lovely- beautiful views of the pasture and mountains from both upstairs and downstairs. Close to towns, while still feeling nice and unplugged. There was a welcoming bottle of wine and miscellaneous snacks- which was great after the my drive, and the animals were very sweet and friendly. Comfortable bed and couches upstairs and down. Would definitely stay here again.

Country chic!

The property is located on a farm featuring rescue sheep, goats, llamas and horses. We got to feed the goats, who are too cute! The house has everything you need, kitchen-wise, if you plan to make meals. The bed upstairs is very comfortable, and the upstairs has a great view of the surrounding area out of the windows. There are many, many books and magazines to read, and the owner left us a bottle of wine and lots of snacks to enjoy! Will definitely return!

Perfect Weekend

This was our second visit to Anavo Farms and we can’t wait to visit again! I celebrated my birthday here amongst the beauty and serenity of the farm and all of its’ inhabitants. Jenn is the perfect host and made us feel totally at home. So many cozy touches, a welcoming bottle of wine and an assortment of goodies including delicious cheese and farm fresh eggs. We enjoyed watching the animals in the pasture while having our morning coffee. There’s even food to feed them … so much fun. Close to Ballard, Los Olivos and many wineries. This is a very special place and we look forward to our next stay. Thanks again for everything Jenn!

We stayed at this charming sheep farm for New Year’s Eve into New Year’s Day, and it was truly a magical experience. We were lucky enough to get a last-minute booking, and everything about the stay felt special. The property is beautiful, with incredible balcony views and the sweetest animals that happily come right up to you. It was such a unique and memorable experience.The thoughtful touches really stood out! complimentary cheese, wine, and snacks, incredibly comfortable bedding, and a space stocked with everything we could have needed. It was cozy, peaceful, and the perfect way to ring in the New Year.The only downside was communication with the host. I reached out prior to the stay with questions about early check-in, late check-out, and whether my child’s age was okay, but mostly received automated messages that didn’t address my questions directly. I also reached out upon check-in and later when the Wi-Fi wasn’t working and didn’t receive a response at the time. The host did eventually respond regarding the eggs and explained that the chickens rest during winter, which was completely understandable.My only concern was that quicker responses would have been reassuring if there had been a more urgent issue, though I do understand this may have been due to the New Year’s Eve holiday. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I would absolutely recommend it and love to return.

Beautiful ranch retreat near Solvang

We immensely enjoyed our stay at the Solvang cottage. The property is perfectly located between the quaint towns of Solvang and Los Olivos. The cottage itself was designed beautifully as farmhouse chic and loved.... absolutely loved..... the beauty of the farm and all the furry friends that come with it. Though it rained during our stay, we found the home perfect for casual reading and games indoors for relaxation, watching the farm animals for entertainment, and curling up with movie after dinners in town. Definitely recommend the restaurants Mattei's Tavern in Los Olivos and SY Kitchen in Santa Ynez Valley. Hiking Trails that were worthwhile were Lovers Loop and Gaviota Wind Caves have beautiful scenery. The host was great to work from beginning to end. And all the special touches she placed in the home were greatly appreciated. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful property

We loved this place! The deck with views and the animals, the fire pit and the privacy were amazing. The owner was very nice and easy to work with. We were disappointed in the bed. It’s a small queen on a platform on the floor with very little space to tip toe along the side to climb in and out. It’s in a crammed area off to the side of a second upstairs living room. There is a main living room downstairs. It should be a nice big bed in the upstairs with a sitting area to the side. Also could use drapes over the windows as we’re both light sensitive. We loved it, but not having a nice bed is why we can’t give 5 stars.

A slice of heaven

I booked this amazing find for a weekend getaway with my husband. The experience was spectacular. The cottage is so beautifully decorated, from the furnishings to the art work to the cozy touches, that you feel so at home. The setting is breathtaking and serene, looking out onto the surrounding hills and farm land. It was such a treat to watch the animals (horses, alpacas, goats, sheep, chickens, dogs) graze and play throughout the day. There’s even food available to feed them! We loved it so much that we brought meals back to the cottage to enjoy on the patio, as opposed to at a restaurant. Jen is an incredible host - so personal, friendly, helpful and attentive. She has created a beautiful retreat filled with delicious complimentary local treats; environmentally-friendly toiletries; and the most thorough, useful, and high-quality guest guide filled with recommendations to nearby vineyards, eateries, hikes and activities. Her attention to detail was evident in every part of our experience. We can’t wait to return!

Centrally Located Tranquil Getaway

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Anavo! The house is immaculate and stocked with everything one would need. There were many special touches that you won't find elsewhere. Welcoming wine, snacks, specialty coffee creamer, well stocked kitchen, 2 coffee makers, extensive toiletries, lap blankets, plush bedding, fireplace, TV with multiple streaming options...there are discrete notes throughout the house to help you figure things out as well as a lovely book about the history and use of the house. We would head out everyday for breakfast, come back and relax on the upstairs patio before heading out for wine tasting, shopping, etc. We loved the patios! It was so relaxing to just sit and watch the animals graze in the fields, the breeze blowing through the trees and grass. With all the recent CA rains, everything was so lush and green and just beautiful! Anavo is an ideal location, close to town, wineries, and eateries. Note that you are right next to the owner's private residence, so be respectful of their privacy. Jen was very respectful and considerate of ours. I would definitely stay here again!
