As a BonVoy member, I usually stay at Marriott properties. This time, we stayed at Marriott San Ramon for a night on Saturday. Everything in terms of room itself was OK and as expected; however, we had two issues that I think are worth mentioning:
1. They assigned a room to use right in front of the elevator. We had a lot of noise issue starting from 10pm onward and at that time, it was too late for us to move to a different room. The issue continued until about 2am, which made it really hard to have a good night sleep. Usually, they would ask us if we have a room location preference but this time, it was just assigned to us.
2. We booked at room for 3 people (a King bed plus a sofa bed). The sofa bed needed a blanket and linen (pillows were in the closet). We called asked for the linen and blanket but it took over 1.5 hours for them to deliver it, by which time we were already in bed.
We usually have a very positive experience at Marriott and I am sure these are exceptions. I appreciate that hotel staff cannot control their guests behavior when leaving the elevator, but I wanted to let future guests know that this Marriott may not be as family-friendly as I thought and you should specifically ask for a quiet room at the end of a corridor if you are considering this hotel. Also, when you are booking, consider that their "sofabed" is not like a sofa that converts to a bed with a proper mattress. It's like sleeping on a sofa at a friend's house!
