'We had a horrible stay. The staff was rude. The restaurant often had wait times of the three hours for food. Things in the rooms were broken and when we called no one ever came, they did not have any place to get snacks or drinks nonalcoholic besides vending machine machines which subsequently also stopped working at one point. '

'We loved everything about our stay - just wished we had stayed longer. The beachfront room was perfect for our family and the view was amazing. The beach was perfect for the kids to swim and snorkel and we even got to meet some friendly sting rays right off the shore! The restaurant had good food options - all of which were yummy. 'The room was very clean and had great amenities. The staff were incredibly friendly. The space is beautiful and charming. Bartender and Restaurant staff were exceptional and the food was amazing. My only piece of feedback would be to add some lounge chairs near the pool. But next time I come back to St Thomas there is no doubt I’m staying at Hotel 1829! '

'I ended up in the same room I was in for Christmas. It was very clean and well stocked with towels and shampoos. Nice big screen tv and cold fridge and freezer. The grounds are older, but well kept up. It's a struggle keeping afloat on the islands and this resort is no different. The staff was excellent and very helpful. I know they would appreciate your support! I've lived on St. John for over 30 years so I know how hard it is to turn a profit here!'
