I chose this hotel based on the reviews, and I wouldn’t consider myself a very picky traveler—as long as I get what I pay for. Unfortunately, my expectations were not met here.
The food and drinks are good once you finally receive them, but the wait times can be very long. The rooms themselves are fine, however they need to be kept extremely cold or the ceiling starts to sweat. I understand this is a tropical climate, but it’s uncomfortable having my kids come in from the pool into an ice-cold room.
On our second day, we noticed a significant number of ants in the room. We didn’t bring any food inside, so I’m not sure where they came from—they seemed to be concentrated around a power cord.
The service is polite, but not particularly warm or attentive. Staff do their jobs, but it lacks the friendliness and hospitality you might experience on other islands or on a cruise.
The surrounding area is nice, with many cute places to eat nearby, and it definitely offers a quieter, more relaxed vibe compared to San Juan. There is limited amount of things to do for kids: beach, pool,ping pong table, swings. No gym or sport courts.
It was ok for our 5 day stay but on the last day the kids were bored.
