The location was great as far as being within walking distance of a lot of things! The location was in a sketchy part of town after dark, so if you stay out after dark using their driver to get home (or an uber) is a really good idea. I wish the listing was up front about that. Then the strong suggestion to use their driver would make sense instead of our uber driver telling us it was a really bad area and scaring us half to death. It’s really not that bad. Just use common sense and follow the suggestions and you’ll be fine. Check-in was seamless and wonderful. Maria’s house is beautiful and historic, the rooms were all interesting and Care was put into each element. Esteban is a thorough and friendly host that’s easy to communicate with and checks in regularly as he helps others check in and out of the house. Also it’s a city so there will be noise throughout the night that’s unavoidable, so manage your expectations (bring earplugs), and the city is old and produces a lot of dust which comes in regularly through the beautiful historic doors and windows. This I also wish I knew starting out there, as it would have explained why my socks were dirty after walking around the room, and given me a reason to put the blankets through the dryer for a bit to knock off the dust. As it was my allergies acted up real bad.. thankfully after the third night we figured it out. I dusted, wiped down the surfaces and put all the blankets and pillowcases through the dryer and it was perfect
