Nautical Point Maine - 75 Yards to the Beach

Enjoy the Old Orchard Beach experience. We are just a 75 yard walk to the beach and only a 10 minute walk to downtown Old Orchard Beach center with all of its attractions including Palace Playland, miniature golf, fantastic shopping and great restaurants.

This two bedroom-one bath 2nd floor unit has a fully equipped kitchen and spacious living room. One bedroom has a queen size bed and the other bedroom has a bunk bed with a full on the bottom and twin on the top. There are 2 spacious decks, the front deck overlooks East Grand Avenue. There is Direct TV, wi-fi and bedroom AC units and a charcoal grill.

We supply bath towels, wash cloths, kitchen towels, blankets, pillows and quilts. You will need to supply your own bed linens.

Seven miles of sandy beach where you can sun bathe, swim and body surf. You are 20 minutes from downtown Portland and the Old Port and 30-40 minutes from the Kennebunkport area. Enjoy fireworks on the beach every Thursday evening.

We also have 2 other properties available at the same site. One has 2 bedrooms/1bath and sleeps up to 6 (Property 7040039) and the other is a 1 bedroom/1 bath cottage that sleeps up to 4 (Property 4488806).

Basic Beach Rental

Great location, two parking spaces which is hard to find, two bedrooms and outdoor seating spaces. Simple beach apartment good for individuals, couples and small families. Adequate kitchen supplies for heating up food or simple meals. For awareness their is an active trainline that runs behind all of Old Orchard Beach. It does run in the late evening and physically shook the entire building. Also,most rentals are off the main road which people drive 45 - 60 mph regularly in the evenings, one driver actually lost control and ran into a utility pole in front of the house while we stayed. These are not critiques of this particular property but general awareness for renting in this area. House has some updated paint colors, small knickknacks and wall art. The kitchen has basic supplies but limited pots, pans, knives for cooking bigger meals. The bathroom is tiny with a child height and sized sink. The shower is the smallest plastic insert you can buy so even a small person will hit elbows against the well while showering. Still you cant beat the location and parking.

Amazing cottage! Less than 2 minute walk to the beach!

We just spent a week at this cottage and had the best time! The cottage was cute, cozy, and clean! The beach is less than a two minute walk and is a less crowded section of the beach, which was great. It only took about 15 minutes of walking to reach Old Orchard Center, which was convenient. It had all the amenities we needed. The owners were great hosts and we will definitely be renting again!

We have stayed at Nautical Point a few times in the past and have enjoyed our stay every time. Very close to the beach and far enough away from the craziness of the pier area. Traffic on E Grand Ave can be loud at times but overall, not too bad. We’ll be back!

Amazing place to stay!

Such a great location here with the friendliest landlords around! We had a blast on the beach and downtown and had a very nice place to come back to and relax. An overall 10/10 experience, especially since John and his wife are great people! Will definitely be back soon!

My fiance' and our 3 kids stayed in the second floor unit at Nautical Point in July. As if being at Old Orchard Beach in the summer isn't amazing in itself, the owners John and Marta make it so much better. We had everything we needed in the unit and they are just so down to earth and so nice, they even treated us to something special. I will never go anywhere else in the future. I have been coming up to Old Orchard for 14 years and always rented from the same people but I wasn't happy so this year I decided to go with something different and I'm so glad I did! The balcony is my favorite part. It's spacious and the perfect place to get the family together for a nice dinner outside. After the sun goes down the breeze is amazing and you can even hear the waves crash from where you're sitting. The location is perfect as well. We timed our walk to the pier and it took us 13 minutes. Between the unit itself, the location and the amazing owners, it was perfect. I will never rent from anyone else ever again and I am already booked for next year!

Loved the location!! Easy walk to the beach!

I would give it 4 stars because of the location which was wonderful with morning and evening walks on the beach. It’s a fun town to visit and we took daily drives to see all the areas surrounding it. We especially loved the Kennebunkport area! 3 stars for the house which was clean but not well stocked with basics like extra toilet paper or salt & pepper! Tiny bathroom and kitchen but they are adequate. Steep stairs to the upper rental so be aware if you have any physical issues. All in all we enjoyed our stay!

Great location but Disappointed to find bed sheets were not provided

We found the house for the most part to meet our needs and to be perfectly located to the Portland and southern coastal Maine areas and lighthouses we wanted to visit the few days we were in that area. However, I would have given more stars had we not have been unpleasantly surprised to find when we got ready for bed, that the beds which were made up when we arrived, did not have sheets or pillow cases. This was our first visit to Maine and as avid pleasure and business travelers, we utilize VRBO in much of our travels. I have never stayed in a house or condo through VRBO that did not have pillow cases and sheets on the beds. Our flight arrived late in the day on Sunday and after locating the house and unloading our luggage, we ventured out to find dinner. Even though it was early evening, we found most restaurants in the area to be closed. We drove around and at 7:15, finally found a great little Italian restaurant which was still open. It was next door to a local Dollar General Store which we were happy to see was also still open allowing us following our dinner, to buy a few snacks and supplies for the rest of our 10 day travel throughout Maine. Upon return to the house around 9:15, we unpacked and being exhausted after a long day of travel decided to go to bed. Imagine our surprise to find no sheets on the beds or anywhere in the house. By this time we did not want to venture back out, and were not sure if we would even find a place open with sheets for purchase, so we made do. The next morning I called the owner to inform him about the lack of sheets. I found him to be a little abrupt in informing me that it was clearly in the VRBO detail of notes that linens were not provided. This is something we have never experienced using VRBO properties. Having researched the weather for the areas we had planned for our 10 day fall coastal and Sugarloaf visit in Maine, packing to remain within flight weight limitations was already a challenge. Our options were to pay an additional price to have an emergency set of sheets from their "storage shed" delivered or go out and buy a set of sheets for the beds we used. The owner made it sound that linens were not typically supplied in other Maine VRBO properties. However, the two other VRBO properties we reserved for our travels on to Sugarloaf and Corea, Maine areas, had pillow cases and sheets on the bed. Providing linens is something we think the owner needs to strongly reconsider.

We enjoyed our stay. Beach is great and not far at all! Bathroom is very small in the upper unit. If I rented again I would definitely take the lower unit. Terribly need a rug in kitchen. Coming in from the beach in the morning was hazardous. The two decks are really nice. And nice people too!!

Excellent cottage in a great spot

This cottage worked out very well for us. I've spent many years coming to OOB and renting cottages and this is a good one. We were quite satisfied with the rooms, beds, bathroom and kitchenette. We found everything we needed in the kitchen and cooked several breakfasts and dinners without a problem. The two decks had plenty of chairs and a table on each. I would suggest that patio umbrellas be added to each. Also, the TV is pretty small given today's standards. Be that as it may, I would definitely recommend the cottage. We slept five here on one of the nights and it was comfortable. It's a great setup for a couple of kids and parents. Finally, the location is perfect. This is the better part of the beach, IMO, and it's less then a mile's walk to the Pier and Honky-tonk and Beach variety store within walking distance.

What a Great place!

We so enjoyed our stay at Nautical Point Maine in Old Orchard Beach! We stayed in the second floor apt and had balcony's on both the front and the back of the apt. The interior was clean and had two bedrooms that were very comfortable. The kitchen had all we needed. We were in walking distance of the Pier and crossed the street to get to the beautiful beach. We found ourselves there everyday. We were 15 mins from Portland and spent a day there. We would stay here again without a doubt!
