Also nearby is the pretty village of Borth-y-Gest and the beaches beyond including Black Rock sands, all of which are lovely for families. There are 2 pubs within a couple of minutes walk, both serving food, and there are nearby Indian, Thai and many other restaurants also within easy walking distance in Porthmadog itself. There are superb walks nearby in the Snowdonia National park.
