Disappointing and Stressful Experience During a Difficult Time

We booked this home (July 3–5) to gather family after my father’s passing. It was meant to be a space for comfort and healing. Instead, we arrived to no running kitchen water and no hot water throughout the house. For nearly 24 hours, we washed dishes in a utility sink and had no way for family to shower with hot water. We weren’t given access to the sun shades or patio misters, making the west-facing outdoor area unusable in the heat. Several other amenities were either not functioning or lacked instructions, including the EV charger, stove burners, and certain outdoor light features.The owners did offer a credit if we left early. We ultimately had to contact VRBO support to try to resolve the situation. For a short stay during an emotional time, this was incredibly disappointing.A 50 credit does not reflect the level of inconvenience or the failure to provide basic, working amenities. I cannot recommend this property and would not stay here again.
