This area is on the Coast-to-Coast cycle route and offers something for cyclists of all abilities. Walkers will find paths from the door and immediate access to the picturesque landscape of this much-loved area.

Farmland and unspoilt countryside are only interrupted by the traditional villages dotted throughout. Guests exploring the area will find welcoming inns, craft bakeries and tea rooms offering a spot to break the day and take five to relax and enjoy a well-earned spot of refreshment. A short drive heading west takes guests into the Lake District National Park where Lake Ullswater and the popular market town of Keswick offer something for everyone. Alternatively, head east up to Alston, one of the highest market towns in England, which offers spectacular views of the surrounding landscape, Lakeland Fells and beyond.
