'This is a really lovely and immaculately maintained property, and one that provides and excellent base for exploring the Lake District. It is very well equipped and comfortable, and also nice and quiet - just the tonic if on a break. We enjoyed cooking and relaxing and also exploring the local area, which was new to us. The nearest villages are 4 miles away, either on foot, by car (single track road) or by boat. The Lake District is at your feet.'

'The house was located in Askham where we were going to a wedding. It was super clean and so convenient. Near a pub where other friends were staying and just around the corner from the town store. Very private but central to everything. We would definitely stay there again. Was absolutely perfect!'

'This was our second holiday at High Bield - we stayed 2 years ago. It is a very special place to stay as it is in a wonderful location. We only used the car twice during the one week we stayed because all the walks and cycle rides could be done from the house. Windermere station was only a short drive away so we could easily pick up family arriving from London. Weather wasn’t what we expected in early June - warm for the first couple of days then much cooler with rain for the rest of the week...
