Nationaal park Lauwersmeer

Kamer was mooi, rustig. Koffiemachine aanwezig. Er was de 2e dag wel geen proper bekertje om tanden te poetsen gezet en er was niet gestofzuigd ( lag vuil op de grond van de dag ervoor). Ontbijt was heel uitgebreid maar ik miste wel een pistoletje. Personeel sprak niet altijd Nederlands wat soms wat moeilijker was. Het zou ook leuk zijn als bij aankomst het hotel even uitgelegd wordt. Klein nadeel nog is dat het hotel wat verder van het centrum ligt maar voordeel daarvan is dan wel de rust.

Unfortunately, my stay at Hotel Luxer was a very disappointing experience. When booking, I was not aware that the hotel is located right in the middle of Amsterdam’s Red Light District. I understand that this may be exactly what some travellers are looking for, but I would have appreciated clearer information about the location on the website or a message before arrival. Had I known, I would have chosen a different hotel. I contacted Expedia to cancel my booking, but the communication between Expedia and the hotel was extremely difficult. I spent almost an entire day trying to resolve the situation and was eventually forced to stay for at least one night because they could not come to an agreement. This cost me valuable time during my holiday. The room was also disappointing. It did not really match the pictures, was quite dusty, and was far too small for someone around 1.80m tall. I did not find it comfortable at all. I do want to give credit to the hotel manager, who eventually helped arrange a refund for the remaining nights. Unfortunately, I still lost the city taxes and, more importantly, a day of my holiday and money trying to sort everything out. The hotel may be convenient for someone looking for a place to sleep after a night out, especially because of its central location. However, for tourists looking for comfort and a relaxing stay, I would not recommend it. Sorry, Luxer, but for me it is a never again.
