The communication was great. The space was great for our family, for 14 of us very comfortably, but the house its self is pretty worn down.

We got to the place and before getting code had to sign rental agreements and a 3rd party rents it out (Shine) not VRBO. The carpet was very dirty, walls were dirts, no big trash can just a box or porch that gets picked up. Within hours of getting there the kitchen table broke on us. It was a table with 2 leafs and no middle support and 150 pounds glass on it. We didn’t lean on it or anything just playing games as a family around the table. my son got glass in his feet, We called immediately, no one came tell the next day around 10. We have small children and did not feel comfortable or safe. We left and they kept our money for the next 2 days and also took 1,000 from our account without talking to us about it and have threatened more. VRBO didn’t do much as it’s not managed through them. Shine has a F rating with the better business bureau. I think that tells you everything you need to know. Think twice before you rent from them. Worst experience with renting. You also can’t talk to anyone from the US on the phone it’s random people and most of the time they don’t answer the phone.

The overall cleanliness of this house was concerning, the carpet, the walls, the smell in the entry way, and the dishwasher. This location and the customer service was fine, but the cleanliness of the house was not great. If they replaced the dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, change the carpet and painted the walls this house would be great. The pictures are definitely dated so in order to uphold full transparency I would recommend the agency updating the pictures of the house so people who are renting it from out of state know what they are coming into.

The amenities are not what is offered. In order to use the pool and hot tub attached to the house it’s an additional fee. Club house additional fee. No working dishwasher, washer and dryer. We literally did 4 towels and swim wear and it too 3 times to dry that little load. Host is rude and unprofessional. They don’t answer messages. Had to buy our own cleaning supplies, toilet paper, trash bags. Trash was not picked up daily and had a possum in our trash who made a mess everywhere, yet we had to clean that up. So 4 kids and 4 adults were to share 1 roll of toilet paper & not use the pool/spa. Sony waste your money!!

Orlando vacation 2025

There's a small hiccup with the check-in process, as I did not receive the email with instructions, however after a quick phone call the instructions came in really fast.This property is big and my kids enjoyed the swimming pool very much!The house is in need of some repairs, but again these things to us were really minor.We rented a car, so we were able to visit the parks at our own time. Most parks are at an okay distance...I don't mind driving in here. There were few insects inside the house, which is typical of the tropical region. The child protection alarm kept on falling off, which was somewhat annoying Overall, we had a great time here!

Worst experience my kids are traumatized

We get to Orlando late like 11:30 at night to airport by time get rental car and to house was 3:am get to house and there was holes in the walls hair in sinks and showers blood everywhere on the carpet look like a party house and some one got in fight broken mirrors bandaid and rat feces beside the bedding the house smelled like old bar get there let host no and they told me that what we booked in the picture house looked great don’t stay here I’m battleing the host now for my refund we move out at 9:am the same day we arrived the house was unlivable also had mold going in the kids bed room my daughter had three asthma attacks and had to call her doctor for a different inhaler because of how bad the house was taken care of don’t let the host scam you like he trying to do to my family

Disappointing Experience at Shine Villas, Davenport FLI recently stayed at Shine Villas in Davenport, FL, for a seven-days vacation and was thoroughly disappointed. Though the property is in a desirable neighborhood with a good layout, several critical issues ruined our stay.Property Condition: The poorly maintained home had insects, dirty walls, stained carpets, and bathrooms with poor drainage causing water pooling, making overall cleanliness subpar.Amenities: We paid extra for pool heating during our December stay to celebrate birthdays, but it was never activated, significantly impacting our enjoyment.Host Communication: After reporting the pool issue, the host claimed to send a technician who never arrived. Our attempts to reach the host went unanswered.Additional Issues: Refrigerator didn't keep items cold; poor mattresses and smelly bedding made sleep uncomfortable; poor condition pans and foul-smelling sofa; house didn't match VRBO images.Financial Concerns: We demand a refund. Our family felt deprived and utterly disappointed, primarily due to the non-functional pool heating—a significant factor in booking this property, and its failure severely impacted our experience.We documented the issues with photos and plan to share a video review.I advise renters to exercise caution and consider alternatives that prioritize cleanliness and reliability. First time was not what I expected

While the property was in a great neighborhood, the home was not well cared for. Insects were present, walls and carpet were very dirty. We loved the home layout and amenities but the house needs a good deep cleaning. I would consider using VRBO again, just not the same property

Weekend stay

Overall we enjoyed the home. The community was nice and felt safe. When we arrived it was a little confusion at the gate with our names not being on the list, but the host responded quickly once I reached out. The home looked like the pictures,but maybe from like 5 years ago. It was a few cosmetic issues that need to be addressed like the walls getting repainted and the carpet upstairs being replaced. The mattresses in all the rooms weren’t the best and definitely could be replaced. Despite the few issues, I would stay here again.

Hurricane Helene Evacuation

My family booked this home under an emergency evacuation. The home is nice and has a lot of space. The onmy issue was the cleanliness og the home there were stains in the carpets all through the house and the walls were not clean. Family Fun with a Few Flaws: Our Solterra Resort Experience

We recently stayed at a spacious 6-bedroom, 5-bathroom home in the Solterra Resort community, rented through VRBO. Our family of 15 had a good overall experience, though there were some issues. Pros: • The house was large and beautiful, offering ample space for our family to spread out and enjoy our time together. • The resort's location was convenient for accessing local attractions and amenities. • Despite some problems, we had a great time and appreciated the communal areas for family activities. Cons: • Noticeable stains on the carpet affected the home's overall cleanliness. • The couches showed significant wear and tear, making them less comfortable and visually appealing. • We experienced water leaks from the ceiling during showers, which was quite inconvenient. • The foosball table lacked a ball, which was disappointing. • The pool had leaves, small bugs, and some green algae, making swimming less enjoyable. • A hole in the pool screen allowed lizards to enter. While entertaining for the kids, it was unpleasant for the adults. • The garbage disposal didn’t work, and the maintenance staff, who spoke little English, couldn't fix it. • The laundry room sign indicated 15 pool towels, but we only found 13. We bought extra towels to avoid the $25 per towel fee. • The clubhouse was closed more often than open, especially during rainy weather. Despite these cons, we had a memorable vacation. With a few improvements, this property could be an even better place to stay.

It was almost perfect.

The house itself was nice and we enjoyed the space very much. I did pay for pool heat that we never got. I even messaged when I booked if I could pay for an extra day so they could turn on the pool heat before we arrived since it was January and my birthday as well as my man's birthday. The lack of pool heat honestly kind of ruined it for me. They did end up refunding the money to me but still, I honestly tried to get it on before we ever came. There were no guests before us so me paying for them to come out the day before should have not been an issue at all. If you don't care about the pool and spa then this place is nice and you will have a good stay,

The property was in a great area a nice home but definitely can use some updates the home can use some paint and definitely needs new furniture as far as the living area downstairs and a few things upstairs also needs more towels to accommodate the number of guests that the house can hold
