Our stay was wonderful and we are possibly considering retiring there in the future. The condo was exactly as advertised and as nice and clean as could be. Thanks so much for allowing us to stay.
This year was #12 in-a-row 4th of July at the Winddrift. Unfortunately, the least enjoyable. While the buildings are undergoing serious structural and cosmetic repair, a better move would have been shut it down, get the work done, re-open. (Like they did next door).Iâve always been the one to say âitâs ok, no problemâ, there are some issues. The construction workers begin at 7am, and Iâm talking serious noise and banging. One of my family members were greeted with a unit having the entire door frame repaired, at check-in time. Then the only working elevator out of 2 in SE building broke several times and was out for several hours each time. This unit being on the 7th floor, made for quite the climb (bad knees, small kids, beach chairs, groceries.) elderly visitors were crying, not being able to go down to the beach. The workers have portable toilets in the parking lot which sent an odor across the whole parking lot. Nice to walk by when youâre on your summer beach vocation. We are yearly regulars, but this may have been our last.
When we go to check in our room, we were not given parking passes like we were told. We then have to spend an extra $130 on parking passes just to have to park across the road. We didnât get to check in until after 5 because our room wasnât ready like we were told. Our shower wouldnât drain, and the furniture on the patio had holes and you couldnât sit outside.
The condo was nice. Beautiful view. Wish some basic necessities were included. Family rented another unit and they had basics there - coffee filters, salt and pepper, decent pots and pans and utensils. More than 1 roll of TP etc. I would go here again, but wouldnât rent this unit.
Wonderful condo and experience. My favorite thing about this condo is that there wasn't any clutter. It was very spacious and all the counters and tables did not have anything on them which left room for all our things. I can't handle clutter this made me so happy. The only thing lacking was only one hand towel in the kitchen and no wash cloths but that's pretty minor. Will definitely try to stay here again.
Neither the property information or during the booking process were we advised of non-hurricane related projects scheduled or the fact that the unit we rented was for sale..
It wasnât until after we were beyond the refund time frame that we were advised of cable & internet rewiring project in each unit. We were never advised of the unit being for sale until we were on site and being contacted by realtors.
During our first month, we had over 20 times that people were in our unit for maintenance or other issues. Leaving drywall dust through out the unit. When the last realtor did not show up at the scheduled time, we had enough and said no more.
There was a backhanded accusation that we took the A/C vents as they were reported missing to the owner when in reality the A/C vents were there. What was missing was the matching paint. Between language barriers of the workers and lack of any on-site coordination, the whole project was a circus.
In addition, during our last 2 weeks, our unit was continuously tripping circuit breakers. From the microwave to the refrigerator, It was annoying.
Plus, it was a 2 bedroom unit and only had 4 towels and 4 washcloths. Needless to say, we were continually doing laundry.
Liquid Life was responsive up until the time we expressed our frustration regarding all of the interruptions. After that text, we never heard from them again. It was very disappointing.
The ocean view was great, the beach beautiful and well maintained. The local folks were welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately, it didnât override the poor experience we had at Wind Drift.
The location is perfect. Gorgeous views. Extremely short walk to the beach. Layout worked well for my family with two kids. The extra bed in the guest room is very nice. The pool is nice though there is no shallow end. The fridge is very small for a family and has no ice maker. That said I would have given this five stars except the damage from hurricane Sally from September of 2020 was very bad and worrisome. We stayed in July of 2021. The condo itself is fine, but when you walk into the building there is extensive damage. There is a large amount of exposed and corroded steel that does not even meet the ground. The steel cannot be bearing any load because it no longer meets the ground. Some of the concrete visible from the pool is very damaged with steel showing. There is bulging water damage on the second floor of the building exposed over head when you enter the building. I had serious concerns about the structural safety of the building and could not sleep at night. The hurricane damage is not pictured in the listing, and I feel the listing misrepresented the property. If I had been aware of the extent of the damage not yet repaired I would have stayed elsewhere and gotten sleep on vacation. I feel liquid life rental misrepresented this listing by not disclosing that there is extensive hurricane damage to the building. I expressed this concern and was told the damage was adequately disclosed. I disagree. I am not sure I would stay in another liquid life property for fear the listing would not be an accurate representation.
5 stars across the board!
Awesome views! Awesome location! Awesome beach access! Clean and spacious condo! Reasonable pricing. We will definitely be back again!
