« Incredible stay at Basalt Retreat! We enjoyed a cozy and luxurious evening the beautiful vineyard, made even more lovely by the complimentary bottle of prosecco and warm hot cocoa. The space itself is gorgeous and so well appointed—from the fascinating books to the gorgeously-scented bath products. Breakfast was delicious: an exquisite croissant loaf with butter and fig jam, plus yogurt and muesli, all made by local purveyors. If you have time, make sure to get lunch at the lovely restaurant....

« Loved everything about this place! Beautiful peaceful setting, cosy interior with great attention to detail - all while being off the grid. We stayed in winter and the little fire did a great job of heating up the space. We enjoyed the outdoor bath at night, and the bed was super comfy. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a getaway with a bit of character. Communication with thehost was very good and we had complete privacy during our stay but I am sure help would have been at hand if...

« Good spot on the river and lovely to sit by the fire. Not within walking distance of town. We would stay again if we came with the dog. Super clean, cosy and comfortable. Some basics left for breakfast for which we were grateful. The only downfall was the poor communication and then having to deal with stayz phone line but I understand life happens too. »
