Peaceful lakeside cottage close to the Broads and beaches

  • Het huisje ligt in een rustige omgeving met uitzicht op een schilderachtig meer met zowel aan de voor- als voorkant een landelijk uitzicht. Het is ideaal gelegen voor een ontspannen vakantie en als een uitstekende uitvalsbasis om de Norfolk Broads, het platteland, badplaatsen en stranden te verkennen.

    U vindt veel wilde dieren rond het meer achter het huisje. Kinderen moeten te allen tijde in de buurt van het meer worden begeleid. Een korte wandeling van het huisje is een traditionele lokale pub en toegang tot Weavers Way (een ontmanteld voetpad van de nationale spoorweg).

    Zandstranden zoals Sea Palling en Mundesley zijn een klein eindje rijden die geweldig zijn voor gezinnen en wandelingen. De nabijgelegen stad Stalham heeft alle essentiële voorzieningen zoals krantenwinkels, lokale winkels, banken, apotheek, afhaalrestaurants, pubs en een Tesco met benzinegarage.

    Andere populaire dorpen en steden zoals Horning, Wroxham (voor de Broads, boottochten en dagbootverhuur), North Walsham, Cromer en Great Yarmouth, zijn gemakkelijk te bereiken. Norwich is een geweldige plek om te winkelen en sightseeing, met park en rit beschikbaar. Er zijn verschillende eigenschappen van National Trust binnen handbereik.

    De cottage in traditionele stijl heeft twee slaapkamers en is geschikt voor 4 personen. De begane grond is open met een comfortabele lounge, tv, dvd, video en stereo (een bibliotheek met video's, cd's en boeken zijn aanwezig), eettafel, een goed uitgeruste keuken met fornuis, magnetron, koelkast met vriesvak. Schuifpuien vanuit de woonkamer komen uit op een privéterras op het zuiden met uitzicht op het meer. De eerste verdieping heeft twee slaapkamers; een tweepersoonskamer met uitzicht op het meer aan de achterzijde en een tweepersoonskamer met uitzicht op het platteland aan de voorzijde, beide hebben een ingebouwde kledingkast en laden. Badkamer met een douche boven het bad. Er zijn twee parkeerplaatsen direct tegenover de voorkant van het huisje in een gemeenschappelijk grind gebied. Beddengoed, handdoeken, theedoeken, elektriciteit en verwarming zijn inbegrepen.

    Een gedeelde bijkeuken met muntautomaat wasmachine en droger is toegankelijk aan het einde van het blok.

This property was perfect for the break we had planned. quiet, scenic and tucked away in a peaceful location. Would not recommend for family stay or walks to the pub as it is closed down. Thank you Lisa we loved it.

Basic but comfortable. Lovely setting, peaceful and a bonus patio. Very poor reception tv played up and DVD/ video didn’t work. Irregular hot water supply, sharp kitchen knives would have been useful. A thinner duvet would have made sleeping more comfortable as the weather was warm. Did not see the owner. We enjoyed our stay.

Short break get away

Clean cosy property,more than enough for 3 people, the cottage was in nice surroundings with a pleasant lake out back of the property, would recommend.

A lovely peaceful location, clean and reasonably well equipped. Lots of attractions within easy reach, Given the lack of broadband (or mobile data signal) some up to date info would have been appreciated (nearest supermarket, more recent leaflets, appliance instructions etc). Unfortunately we had problems with the hot water which was lukewarm at best and ran out after only 1 shower.

Grandparents holiday treat for Grandchildren

The grandchildren loved the outdoor area and enjoyed feeding the ducks. Well placed for a lovely trip on the Broads and plenty of attractions nearby. Lovely weather in a really nice house.

We had a lovely stay here, it’s very homely and the lake outside is beautiful. We enjoyed sitting outside lots and listening to the wildlife. The cottage is the perfect size for a small family and within driving distance to a lot of places. We will definitely be staying here again, thank you :)

Everything you need. Doesn’t have Wi-Fi or good signal for your phone but it didn’t bother us as we were out and about exploring the surrounding countryside. I would recommend if you want a peaceful holiday.

Great location in a beautiful setting. Very poor signal on the mobile and no broadband but knew that anyway. Second time I’ve stayed. A bit of updating with decor as a bit tired but overall met our needs.

A pleasant, comfortable stay

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Fairly remote if you like it quiet. Lovely surroundings. Everything we needed in the well-equipped cottage. It would have been useful to have a help sheet for boiler for heating and hot water, as we don’t like to fiddle with it and it wasn’t on when we arrived, although Lisa said it should have been.

Perfect place to come home after a long day out.

Really suited our purposes well. Pretty much what we expected when we booked so no disappointments there.Location is ideal for exploring north Norfolk and cottage is in a beautiful remote lakeside location.... very peaceful. We would definitely use again and would recommend. Lorraine Smith.

View of the lake was lovely. South facing garden. Compact house but very clean, tidy and loads of games and videos for the kids. No WiFi was unexpected but it wasn’t the end of the world.

The property is in a lovely location providing a relaxing stay in the countryside overlooking a small pool frequented by wildlife. The is plenty of space for 4 people and all amenities provided for your stay. It is made clear that there is no WiFi at the property, but also the phone signal is quite variable, so just be prepared for this when staying at the house. There is an excellent library of VHS and DVDs to watch! We really enjoyed our visit, just one or two little details would make it excellent such as providing larger towels. We would recommend this as a great property from which to explore the area.

Clean and simple holiday home, with patio with an absolutely stunning view. Ducks, swans, geese and even a heron occupy the lake in front of a pretty tree screen. Ample books and video library for more than a two week stay. Location is excellent for walks or visits to stately homes and idyllic villages. We left an ordnance survey map of the area for the benefit of future occupants. Suggestion: share a WIFI service with the neighbours, as non access to the web was a challenge.

Beautiful location. Didn’t appreciate walking through face height cobwebs throughout the property. After previous reviews stating issues trying to get hot water we understood this to have been addressed, however, there was no hot water and no guidance. We eventually sussed things out but a bit of concern initially. Nice homely and comfortable place to stay.

Well located

The house is beautifully situated between the Broads and the north Norfolk coast, both within easy reach although the house is location is quiet and out of the way. The lake at the rear of the house is lovely and we saw frogs, newts and a kingfisher during our stay. The house itself is well-equipped and comfortable. I see other reviewers had issues with hot water but we had no problems. Lack of wifi is not a problem for us and we knew there would be none before we got to the house, but we also had no mobile signal and 4G which meant that while we were in East Ruston we were completely uncontactable which was more of a concern. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay, thank you!
