'our stop was just a journey break on the way to London'

'Mooi en grote kamer, lounge en restaurant. Maar waarom houten vloeren, het piept en kraakt, heel irritant'

'The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful, nice warm welcome. This hotel is lovely, unfortunately the owners don’t appear to want to spend any money maintaining the building. The rooms are clean but cracked floor tiles in the bathroom, ceiling damaged and not repaired properly or repainted. The beds are comfortable and linen is spotless.'

'Beautiful grounds with lovely views of the wildlife in and around the lake. Very peaceful.'

'Heerlijk verblijf gehad. Enige minpuntje is dat we een panorama room geboekt hadden en ons uitzicht bestond uit alleen maar dakpannen. Verder zeker een aanrader!'

'We enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff. Loads of old Roman ruins around the property '

'Good size bedroom, excellent breakfast, great staff'

'Location perfect for our day at the races. Staff all very friendly. Food in restaurant amazing. Bed not the comfiest but I do have a bad back. Room small but love the old style decor. Gave it character. Bathroom small.'

'This was a very old historical building in as good of a shape as it could be. Some uneven floors and a lot of steps to get to your room. It was small and quiet charming. The staff was pleasant and helpful. A bus stop was right out the side. Very pleasant. The bed was nice, no air conditioning, but it was fairly cool when we went in August, 2026. They had a fan. We are from Florida so the low 70's was a joy for us for August.'

'Mooi hotel, met goed Engels ontbijt.'

'Lovely apartment, we plan to be regular visitors if possible.'

'Right in the middle of town. Walkable to everywhere you need to go. Staff were very friendly. Room was basic but had everything we needed or wanted! Kettle in the room was great for some tea. Breakfast buffet was awesome. Would def stay here again if I come back to Darlington'

'Great room, clean and tidy, just a bit noisy until closing time! Would stay again.'

'Quirky rooms but very unclean, tv was like watching a tv from 2010 terrible quality.'
