Blokhutten in New Castle

'This hotel seemed to house a lot of homeless or displaced guests. Breakfast food very limited, juice machine and toaster both broken. Weekly rates of $225 posted on room door, yet we paid $155 for a night. Outrageous!!! We should have paid $10 more and went somewhere nicer. Lesson learned!'

'A small but charming 1 bedroom apartment with a living room, kitchen and bathroom. The furniture, especially the bed, was very comfortable. The kitchen came stocked with some supplies, including coffee pods for the Keurig machine. It was very helpful that there was a washer/dryer with detergent. Off-street parking was not available but there was always a spot on the street out in front. We enjoyed our stay.'

'At 1st the room appeared clean. When we checked the sheets and matresses for bed bugs there was a large stain on the fitted matress pad on the side. The phone didnt work, the smoke detector was beeping, and we had the AC unit on 65 and we still were uncomfortably hot. If it hadnt been for the sweet desk clerk, who handled everything perfectly, we probably wouldnt have stayed. Thanks to her our night, although warm, was acceptable.'
