The food was a major disappointment. Dinner options were poorly executed and lacked freshness or flavor, which was surprising given the quality of food available everywhere else in Japan. The only bright spot was breakfast, which was consistently good and well organized.
Service was another weak point. The spa attendants, in particular, were curt and noticeably indifferent. Instead of the warm hospitality we’ve experienced at other Marriott locations, the interactions felt transactional and dismissive.
Overall, this hotel needs significant attention, both in service training and property maintenance. With so many excellent options in Nara, we cannot recommend this location in its current condition.
