Our stay at the Old Owl was a 10/10. Everything fromBooking to check-out was seemless. The amenities of the house were great and everything was in perfect condition. We were a group of 13 adults and there was plenty of space for all of us. Both Brett and the property manager were attentive and available whenever we had a question or needed something. The kitchen and bathrooms were stocked with everything you could need! We definitely plan on visiting the Old Owl again !

Once again, we had a dream family vacation in Saugatuck using Brett’s wonderful house as our home base! Our group numbers 10 and ranges in age from 3 to 84. Old Owl House affords us each the space and the type of accommodations to suit us all! The house is always spotless upon our arrival, the large, open kitchen equipped with everything one could possibly need for cooking (and then some!), the furniture in every room comfortable and pleasing. Over the years we've been coming, if there's ever a question, a problem, or concern (and truly, there have been few!) the manager, Chadd, has consistently been quick to respond and whatever it was taken care of quickly. The location of this house cannot be beat for easy (car) access to beaches, town, and to any of the many amazing things Suagatuck/Douglass has to offer. From blueberry picking and peach picking, to beach-going, hiking, playing pickle ball, or tubing on Lake Michigan, our days were filled with wonder and variety. And even before we left the house in the morning, or once we returned in the afternoon, we all loved spending time in and around the pool, the hot tube, or reading on the screened porch.This house is truly a "gem"! We are so grateful to be able to return here year after year and we're hoping 2026 is no exception!

Maddi’s Bach Stay

The house was amazing! It was very well clean and very spacious. The pool was also very warm. I hate going to places with a heated pool and it not being warm but this was perfect. It was a few minutes from town. Even while having no power and being on the house generator the house held up well. We will be back!

Amie’s bachelorette weekend.

Booking the house was easy. Unfortunately, they had a gas outage in the area of the home two days before we were supposed to arrive from out of state. Brett called me with frequent updates which was wonderful, plenty of time to book another place if we were worried. The gas was turned on the evening we arrived. The stay was amazing. Thanks Brett!

New Year’s Eve Adventure

This house is new and beautiful. We loved the interior design. The house fit our group of 6 families comfortably. We enjoyed making meals in the kitchen and lounging comfortably on the main floor and downstairs. The hot tub was a big plus. Lake Michigan is a few steps away. Although we went in the wintertime, the pool is a great addition and must make for an awesome vacation in the summertime. Hosts were attentive and the neighborhood very peaceful. We hope to come back again in the summer time!

Beautiful, comfortable house with lovely decorating and a great modern kitchen. Designed for larger groups, there was plenty of room for our family of nine. INCREDIBLE HOME

This was our first ever family vacation with our terminally ill daughter and we were a bit nervous to say the least. However; upon arrival our minds were quickly put at ease, as the owner had literally thought of everything! Old Owl is a beautiful home with a layout that was perfect for a group of 14 people ranging from 18 months to 87! The property manager and owner were INCREDIBLE to work with; From booking our stay, to the clear and simple check in process, they answered all questions in a timely manner and were always willing to help in any possible way they could. The accommodations were second to none and we couldn’t be more grateful for the cherished memories we created at this beautiful home! We’ll definitely be booking again!

This place exceeded our expectations. We were a family group of 13 adults and one toddler and all the spaces were comfortable for hanging out, cooking/eating, and sleeping. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub, outdoor fire, screened-in porch, downstairs game room, cornhole game, quick walk to the lake, walks along Lakeshore Drive, and quick access to Douglas and Saugatuck. For potential visitors, our activities were: Hiked Mt Baldy, fishing charter (caught King Salmon to feed us all x 3), kayaking Kalamazoo River, Saugatuck dune ride, pontoon boat rental for the evening, food tour, brewery tour.

Another terrific week at the Old Owl House in Fennville

This house - the property and all it has to offer - it’s proximity to Lake Michigan and beautiful beaches as well as the towns of Saugatuck and Douglas, and so many wonderful things to do in and around the area, offered up yet again a glorious summer vacation for three generations of our family ( ranging in age from 2 1/2 to 83). We are so grateful to the owner, Brett, for this rental - this wonderful home, in this magical place. Chadd, the property manager is so responsive to any questions and concerns and quickly takes care of anything that needs attention. This place is truly a little slice of Michigan paradise!

Heuer Family Reunion VII

The Old Owl House is clean and modern. My wife and I four children + spouses and four grandchildren had a wonderful time, enjoying the pool, fire pit and proximity to Lake Michigan. Hot tub was a slight disappointment as we couldn't seem to get it much warmer than the pool. Service as great as Chad was there promptly remedy the ice maker in the main refrigerator and one other minor issue.

Fabulous Family Vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Old Owl House! The layout is great for our large family group. Lots of room to visit, play, sleep, cook and eat. The pool and the outdoor lounging and seating areas are fantastic and we spent a lot of time there. The fire pit, wooded area, lush lawn and long driveway with a basketball hoop were a big hit! We loved walking to the lake, especially for the sunsets. Proximity to Douglas Beach, Douglas and Saugatuck was another positive. We’re already planning another summer stay at the house.

Luxury Getaway

GREAT vacation rental! We gathered our family at this beautiful house for a summer reunion. Our lively youngsters were in the huge, heated pool from morning 'til night. Brett, the owner, and Chadd, the local manager, have outfitted this house with everything you want and need for a comfortable vacation. Smaller touches that made a BIG difference impressed me. For example, there are more than enough good beach towels for everyone. There were lots of lightweight chairs to take to the beach. There are plenty of plates, bowls, glasses, and silverware so you don't run short trying to serve one meal. We mostly used the high quality and attractive plastic dishes although there are glass dishes, too. The layout of the house includes space to gather as a group and places to retreat for quiet time. The house is spotlessly clean. The decorating is tasteful. The furniture, including the beds, is so comfortable. With counter stools there is enough room for everyone to sit and join in group meals. Old Owl's location, literally at the end of the road, felt secluded and private. We hope to return in the future to enjoy this idyllic home!

Perfect in Every Way!!!

Our stay in Old Owl was superlative in every respect. As a matter of fact, everything was in such perfect condition, we would have thought we were the first guests had we not seen the guest book and reviews. The home was beautifully and comfortably furnished, with plenty of private space for our 13 family members spanning three generations. The heated pool and its environs were expansive and impeccably maintained, as was the fire pit. And the home’s cozy and private set back from the road allowed the little kids to safely scoot and ride bikes without traffic worries. The property is located in a quiet enclave of lovely resort homes, making the 4 minute walk down the drive to see the sunset a nightly must. We all hope for a return visit next year!

Of all the VRBO places we have stayed at over the years this was the best managed and clearest in communication. The property is absolutely wonderful and provides space for being together but also places of quiet and rest. Will definitely want to return!

A Perfect House for a Multi-generational Family Gathering!

This is our family's second summer spending a week in this most special house! The pool and the hot tub make perfect early morning and late afternoon activities for all and the house's proximity to the beaches, hiking, boating, fruit picking, and other activities ( we loved the Art Barn on our rainy day!)- not to mention many great near-by eateries - continue to make this house a family favorite gathering spot. Perfect home for our family vacation (8 adults, 6 kids aged 3-10). Ample room for everyone. Large well-equipped kitchen and eating areas. So many fun things to do inside and out. Everyone loved the pool and kids became better swimmers. Appreciate the safety considerations taken. Icing on the cake- it’s beautifully furnished and decorated. Would definitely return. Amazing family getaway

This was the perfect place for our family getaway…there is something for everyone…fabulous pool and patio, hot tub, lots of space, beautiful setting, ping pong, Pac-Man, big tv for hockey games, great location! We had a memorable stay and the property managers were quick to reply to our questions in a friendly way. Everyone had lots of space and loved the time together!

Amazing house with fabulous amenities

My group of friends and I had the best time at this house! They have thought of everything you could want out of a house while on vacation, there wasn't anything missing the whole weekend we were there. Clean as a whistle, designer finishes, it was such a delight to be able to stay there. We can't wait to get back for another stay soon!
