« In spite of some very lovely staff, this hotel is in an appalling state and desperately need of a facelift. Water damage on the walls, peeling paint, leaking toilets, a broken shower and windows that haven’t been cleaned in years. The owners need to spend a lot of money on this establishment that must have been spectacular in the past, as neither it or the staff deserve it being left in this state. »

« A lovely cottage in a great location. The cottage has everything you need and the bedrooms are a good size too. There are several uneven, steep steps walking up to the cottage so I wouldn’t recommend it to people who are unsteady on their feet. The owners left some biscuits and milk on the fridge which was a nice gesture. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again in the future when visiting Whitby. »
