We did not get to go around the pool. Food choice was very poor if you are a vegetarian. Had the poorest food ever in Skiathos around the pool bar - tasteless chicken and cod bites. When reported to the restaurant about the limited choice we were told that is all they’ve got - no attempt to address it or improve. In the end we ate...

'The rooms were clean and comfortable, the shower was great. Breakfast was good, with a few different options. The pool is clean and a good size with lots of sub beds around it. The staff were all very friendly and happy to help. Brilliant views of the mountains and the sea to the other side.'

'We had a very nice stay at Gea. Perfect appartement, clean with all necessary facilities. Amazing view and fine pool. Friendly people, always ready to help. Highly recommendable.'

'Staff was very friendly and view from our small but clean, comfortable room was amazing! The downside is that you have to haul your luggage up an old stone walkway and staircase to check in at The Water hotel. Unfortunately, our bags were 50 lbs (23kg) each. Luckily, a staffer offered to take them the rest of the way to our room at The Rock, which is more old stone stairs up to an old stone walkway away. There are no elevators. Thank goodness for Alberto!'

'Giannis was excellent - could not have been more helpful. The room itself was beautiful, partner found the bed a little too firm but I thought it was perfect. Free minibar was a nice perk. I wish the pool hours were longer but I understand from a liability perspective. The vending machine in the lobby was an excellent touch. Room was kept lovely and clean! Location was perfectly central, delicious brunch was just steps away and the town centre was a few minutes out. I hope that we return to...

'Nice and newly renovated property. Not too far from town, but not walking distance. We took taxis and the water taxi a couple times. Only disappointment was our rooms that had children booked in each were not placed on the same floor. I think they could’ve made a greater effort to ensure this since we booked well in advance. Pool side service also lacked enthusiasm but the bar was near enough that this wasn’t a great inconvenience. Would stay there again.'

'Het hotel heeft een prachtig uitzicht op zee. Ligt 4 minuten lopen van het centrum maar wel heel rustig. De service van het personeel en de eigenaars is zéér goed. We hadden een late vlucht naar huis.Het uitchecken is om 12.00 uur. Geen probleem,de koffers werden opgeslagen. We mochten nog de hele dag gebruik maken van het zwembad. Konden douchen (schone handdoeken, shampoo enz) We gingen s’avonds relaxt naar de luchthaven.'

'We stayed at Alkyon Hotel for 3 nights before travelling on to Skopelos and I couldn’t recommend this hotel more! It was so convenient being 5 minutes drive from the airport and on the sea front. It was less than 5 minutes walk from the main strip of restaurants along the front of the port but slightly out of the main town area so was quiet at night. 'The hotel is situated on the side of a hill which offers great panoramic views across the bay. There are quite a number of steps if you are walking from the pool or bar and restaurant area so may not be suited with those with accessibility needs. We had a room which also included a shared pool with an adjoining appointment. The room itself was nice, It was clean and comfortable. 'The hotel was well situated for easy walking access to town and the bus stops. It felt new and well looked after, and was in a good location for the couple of nights I was there. I booked a king room, which was on the ground floor and although the patio door was double glazed, you could hear a deal of outside noise. The room was also quite small and also did not have a secondary privacy curtain, so you did not feel private when washing/getting dressed etc. you would need to draw the blackout...
