'This has to have been one of the loveliest places we've ever stayed - every single detail had been thought of, and Ruth, the host, was just fabulous. The bed, bedding, free-standing bath, decor, snuggle bathrobes, decor, styling, cleanliness, warmth and welcome were all 5-star. 'The property was as beautiful as it was in the pictures with lovely grounds and the hot tub was the icing on the cake. Unfortunately though, the outside of the property was swarming with wasps so unable to keep doors and windows open and nor could you fully relax in the hot tub. My partner got stung on the first night. Also there was a trap in the corner of the bedroom which made us feel uneasy sleeping at night. And the window above the bed did not have a blackout blind so was woken early...

'The rooms were immaculate and even had a a book in there explaining the history behind the building which was really interesting. The food was amazing and the portion sizes were great all for good pricing. The area is very quiet but there’s plenty of places to go that’s within walking distance or 5-10 minutes in the car but it truly is set out as the Victorian/Tudor era. The staff were so attentive and friendly. Overall amazing stay and would definitely come again!'

"Highly recommend to stay at Cromwell’s Tap House. It’s located in the heart of Shrewsbury, at walking distance of pretty much everything in town. Only 7 minutes from the train station. The rooms were located on the first floor above the pub. We heard no noise whatsoever, and only in the morning we heard some cars go by, but it was of no nuisance to us. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable and there were a lot of amenities like a hairdryer, coffee, tea, and towels. The linen were also very clean. The discount at the pub was a nice bonus; they have a nice selection of beers at good prices."
