« Excellent, pristine accommodation with all the extra added touches and more. Located next to the owners own home whom were not intrusive. The garden is welcoming with the added benefits of seeing the two resident horses in the adjacent field. You may be welcomed by two wee black cats whom can curl up on the porch, an animal lovers dream. Cathy is an excellent host whom responds quickly to any queries. I would highly recommend this property for anyone whom wants a rest from everyday life and...

« This is a fantastic cottage in an adorable village. It has rolling hills, a burn and lots of sheep! The cottage itself was quite large and was fit for our family of 6, including adult children and their spouses. It was clean, decorated well and rather comfortable. There are amenities within walking distance such as a pub, museum, etc. We wished we had stayed longer and we'll definitely return! »

« Well appointed with all the amenities we could want, and more. Spotless throughout, plus a very comfortable bed. The most beautiful setting in a storybook village! I came here to see and experience where my great grandmother was born, and was overwhelmed with the beauty of this very special place! I will never forget Rowan Cottage and Wanlockhead!! »

« Amazingly helpful & friendly hosts, willing to provide great suggestions for local attractions and assist in any way needed. Set in a beautiful quiet location but still only a short drive to major roads. »

« WiFi advertised, but there was none. Pee stains on one toilet. Skid mark in the other toilet. Outside refuse bin full to overflowing. Tried to call and text contact no provided - no reply. Other than that caravan was reasonably comfortable. »

« Having stayed in Wanlockhead for a week at the end of June 2021, this property seemed like an ideal overnight stay during a house move from the the South Coast to Aberdeen. Within easy distance of the M74 and very peaceful. Loved the bold décor. Excellent nights rest , the downstairs bed was very comfortable and the property spotlessly clean. »

« We were a group aged nine to eighty. There was a lot on offer to cater for us all. There were nine of us and the place was big enough for us to spread out and enjoy varying activities. A bus stop outside going into Edinburgh was a bonus. Would highly recommend it. Does Scotland proud! »
