'The hotel doesn't have a own parking, the location is so/so and the outside of the hotel looks like there's nothing to it but don't judge this book by it's cover. The rooms and beds are amazing. You sleep sound, like sleeping beauty and the staff is very kind and friendly. Definitely a place where I would wanna go back.'
'We were very lucky because both times we parked at the hotel, we got one of the 2 slots in front of the hotel, so we didn't have to try and find the additional parking lot, but the staff did give us a map to find it. Keep in mind that there is no lift, so depending on your floor you need to carry your bags up. The 23kg bag was not much fun to take up and then down 2 flights of stairs. 'Stromness is een mooie uitvalsbasis voor een aantal bezienswaardigheden, maar gezien de kleine afstanden op het eiland zou ik zelf in Kirkwall gaan zitten. Inns zijn over het algemeen erg goed, maar hier was de kamer echt wel heel klein, verouderd en vooral ook gehorig. Het bed was oncomfortabel: matras met veren, flinterdunne kussens. Geen enkele luxe. Dat hoeft ook niet, maar dit voelde haast als een hostel. Restaurant en bar zijn fijn om te hebben en serveren prima eten, maar het personeel...
'We arrived late from the Shetland Ferry. Instructions to get in were clear. We had a private room but no towels, they were complimentary but had to be provided for by staff and upon arrival there was no staff… so we could not shower in the evening. All was clean and working well.
Room was clean and effective - but could be made more friendly by just putting up some pictures or Orkney fotos.. that would really make a difference.

'We were warmly welcomed by the staff on arrival and when they showed us up to the room we fell instantly in love with the sea view. The room was very clean and in good shape. What’s more, we ate in the restaurant and the food was fresh, locally sourced and also great value for money when compared to other local options.'
'My second time staying here, and I will be back. The room was spacious super clean and comfy and the woman on reception couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. It's a shame they don't reopen the restaurant for evening meals though, I'm sure they would be busy every night. The Co-op has changed to an Asda - it's right across the road and the hotel offers wine glasses in the lounge if you bring a bottle in to your room. Very nice place.'
