'While this is an older hotel, it is clean, things are in working order, and rather charming and unique. For example, I had a large room with a small patio that offered a beautiful view of the city. It’s in a quaint quiet town with gorgeous views of the mountains surrounding the town. I appreciated the thoughtful touch of hot green tea. The thermos amazingly kept the water hot even till the next morning. Because I went during « low » season in May, I was able to enjoy the onsen to myself ! The...

'The on site Onsen natural baths, being able to choose either a private Onsen or alternative public baths, in the hotel. The private baths meant we could have the bath space to ourselves and wear a cosi! We were provided lovely fresh linen traditional robes, towels and footwear, fantastic traditional experience staying in this traditional Japanese accommodation, family run, with everyone being super helpful and friendly. Free coffee machine in reception. Why stay in a concrete tower block when...

'Had a lovely experience at this Ryokan. Great experience. Great food. Great staff. Can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our time here.'

'Friendly people. Too bad extra charges were charged for using the Onsen. The onsen was nice though. Traditional stay, that was still comfortable. Bus stop right at the hotel.'

'I enjoyed the dinner meal even though I made a rookie hot pot mistake.'

'What a fantastic place to stay. Convenient location from the train station And easy acces to snowmonkey parc. The food was amazing And the service level as well. They have an amazing bar on the roof. You sit with -15 in heated plastic iglo tents zipping from your drinks. The onsen Spa is big on the upperfloor overlooking Yudanaka And the mountains. The Room is huge. So wonderful stay And highly recommended.'

'The staff were so welcoming from the moment we checked in, even helping us carry our heavy suitcases up to the second floor. The room was lovely and spacious, with all the traditional ryokan elements you would expect. Located an easy 10-minute bus ride directly from the station, and you can use your Pasmo card on the bus. From the nearest bus stop, it’s just a five-minute walk. The only thing travellers should be aware of is that, as the ryokan is located in the historic part of Nagano, most...
