Cally Palace Hotel & Golf Course
The staff in all areas were friendly and courteous. The rooms were large and spotless. Nice bathroom. Rooms were quiet at night. Breakfast, bar and restaurant very good. Ample parking (we were on 6 motorcycles). Ideal base for the area, we would come again. Highly recommended.

The Bruce Hotel
Excellent, convenient location to stay during the Wigtown book festival. Particular highlight being the friendly, informative staff. We were delighted to experience the delicious Scottish breakfast each morning, ingredients sourced from local farms.

The Crown Hotel
The room was huge,bed was comfortable. Shower was warm. Except for the rain, we liked Newton Steward.

Cottage with stunning views over Kirkcudbright Bay, a short walk from the beach.
Lower Nunton was perfect for us four adults and two dogs. The log fire made it very comfortable. There was everything in the cottage that we needed. Only one little niggle, the bins outside the cottage were full of garden rubbish, so we had to take the rubbish down the track to the bins near the ...

Everything was walkable. Quite a few choices of cafes and restaurants. The people were very friendly. The suite was adorable. And if you like people watching, there is a park across the street that you can sit in your living room chair and watch life going on. Pete was very helpful and accessible. ...
