Horsley Cove

The room served it's purpose in the sense that there was a bed and a shower but there was no breakfast at all despite saying that it was served on their website. Furthermore, there was no bar even though there was signs for a bar. There was both an indoor and outside pool but the outside pool was closed and the indoor pool opened at 10am which is the time that you are going out to explore the area. Our bathroom door lock was a bit dodgy when you attempted to lock it on the inside, my partner had to let me out of the bathroom from the outside. Also there was not always staff around if you needed assistance. Even when we checked out at approximately 9AM on Saturday, the reception desk was closed. It was just as well that we had no room keys to return; the doors all have type in passcodes which was a benefit to the hotel. In addition, myself and partner could not get the shower to dispense warm water, luckily we were staying there during the June heat wave, so a colder shower temperature was a bit more bearable. The staff were friendly and helpful and as stated above the room did serve it's purpose for somewhere to sleep but we would not stay there again unless we got a good deal.

Indoor pool was closed,no mention of that when we booked. Outdoor pool was very cold,but it was clean and maintained. Breakfast was awful,bacon looked expired,beans were mushy and the sausages were tastless and looked horrible. Room was big for 4 of us,decent bathroom,but none of the windows opened,the pillows smelled like 50 years old,sheets had stains,and so did the mattresses. Incredibly hot in the room! Not worth £155 per night,hotel is in need of refurbishment
