'Quiet, peaceful, beautiful property. Communication with the owner was prompt and very helpful with questions we had. A small self-serve store on site was a bonus convenience. This is a great location if you are wanting to access the Highland areas of Landmannalauger or Maelifell (we did both from here) or some of the beautiful waterfalls along the South Coast (Seljalandsfoss, Gljufrabui, Skogafoss, Nauthusagil, Kvernafoss). 'Lovely cabin :well appointed: comfortable bed. But long drive from town 28km and half of it is (currently) a gravel road. It’s a beautiful place. We walked across field to waterfall. Views of the volcano. Nice respite but know you have a drive from the highway/town'

'We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The only downside was that it felt a bit chilly, and we couldn’t find any instructions on how to adjust the heating. The property is quite remote, so we strongly recommend using a 4x4 vehicle to avoid getting stuck in a snowstorm, as we nearly did. Despite this, we highly recommend this property—it’s a fantastic place to stay!'

'If you like being out of the way Afternoon Cottages is a great jumping off point for adventuring. It is well equipped and very clean. It has a great price point and very basic. It worked great for us because it was simply a place to cook dinner and sleep. You have access to all the necessities about 25 minutes away in Hella. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.'
