'We stayed in a room at the rear of the property. It is clean, but very dated bathroom, decor, upholstery and carpet. Really needs a complete renovation. It was a very hot evening and a ceiling fan would be useful because there is not a lot of room in the accommodation for a free standing fan. The sun is on the room all day. Food excellent and staff very courteous.'

'The property was a perfect location for our train ride at Embasy and easy to get to. The breakfast on Saturday and Sunday was very good but Monday was a let down as the buffet style items seem to have run out of hot food at times. We were located in the annexe behind main hotel. Unfortunately these rooms are at the ‘end of the water chain’ both hot and cold ! We couldn’t have a shower etc from 7-30 until about 9 am as nothing came out of the taps. 'Room clean . Comfortable bed complimentary water . Biscuits and good selection of teas and coffee even hot chocolate. Staff amazing couldn’t be more helpful. Breakfast amazing good parking plenty of spaces. The only downside for not very tall people the bath was quite high to get in to have a shower. Overall a lovely place to stay'

'Quirky with some lovely staff in the evening in the restaurant. The gardens are also beautiful but small things could really enhance the hotel to get more from its potential. My stay improved after a few small disappointments. The room was warm and quiet. The meal on the second night was excellent (first night's green curry with poppadoms was less so and lacking in flavour).'

'I would say it’s a steady 3 star. It’s not really geared to be a hotel, room facilities very basic although clean. Tv signal was poor even on BBC1. Breakfast was a free continental which didn’t even have fresh pastries. It’s ok but for the money I paid I expected better. There was a wedding on Saturday night which was a bit chaotic but thankfully it’s away from the rooms so wasn’t too loud. Probably wouldn’t return unfortunately.'

'We stayed in a yurt. It was bliss after the very warm days to sit outside on our little deck and wander in and out of our bedroom. Lying in the most wonderfully comfortable bed and watching the stars and ( as it turns out) lighting and heavy rain was just magical. clean comfy, and an amazing generous breakfast as well!'
